All the Christmas decorations are up. The new bar in the lobby in open. The atmosphere is fantastic. Just going thru the lobby to get to the restaurant is amazing. The food is great. Fun place to people watch too. Service is wonderful. I had the pork shank and my wife had the salmon. Both were delicious. And the presentation was fabulous. Good work Disbey chefs. We love this place.

We ate at the Grand Floridian Cafe tonight and immediately as we sat down (7:30pm), our server was rushing us. She quickly took our orders, not asking our children their drink orders and almost forgetting to take mine. After a long day of walking in the rain, we (party of 6) wanted to drink, eat and relax. Our kids didn’t receive their second side item and we had to ask for it. Then all 3 ordered the kids steak which had so much seasoning it made one of our kids sick. The other 2 could barely finish it (and they love steak). It was a disappointing last meal of our trip.

In a moment of whimsy, I decided to book an early morning reservation at Grand Floridian Cafe, and I am so glad I did. It was the absolute best way to my vacation and to start the day. The restaurant itself felt particularly dead. In my previous visit, it was very much a hustle and bustle atmosphere. And....even in the times I have passed by to and from the lobby, it always seems like there is a gaggle of people waiting outside the entrance and a solid crowd inside. So, to be there when it was so quiet- almost more servers than diners- was a little strange. But, if you have ever wanted to go to Grand Floridian Cafe but had trouble getting reservations or trouble getting in.....definitely check out those early 7-ish times. It's also a nice time to just sit and people-watch, seeing all the families and strollers going past on their way to the magic. My server, Sarah, was just one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to interact with. So lovely, and a true embodiment of the Grand Floridian- charming, British. I was disappointed that the Strawberry Soup was not the seasonal/daily soup. But, I decided to get the Chicken and Waffle. In the meantime, Sarah brought me the complimentary biscuits and butter. Which was an ambitious prospect with a whole waffle coming. But, who am I to turn down free biscuits? The chicken.....oh Lord, the chicken. It was simply outstanding. Cooked to perfection. Good quality. The cornflake crunch was just suberb. The waffle was a bit overcooked. And a little bit less fluffy and more crunchy. That said, once I poured syrup on it, and it soaked up that syrup....it worked. I can see how overcooking the waffle might make sense in order to stand up to the syrup and not get too soggy. It was a wonderful breakfast, I could not recommend Grand Floridian Cafe more, and I will certainly be back.

My partner and I had a not-so-Grand Floridian Cafe experience.
It started off poorly, needing to have a filthy seat swapped out, and proceeded to go downhill from there. Throughout the hour-plus ordeal, we were able to interact with our waitress a total of two times outside the initial drink and food orders and the request for/bringing of the check.
At the 40-minute mark, long after our initial coffee and limeade had run dry, we received biscuits and butter and finally had a chance to ask for some water. We did not expect having to specify we both needed one, so a second had to be requested which was never brought until we received our check some 30 minutes later.
Almost an hour after arriving we finally received our meals, and they were… on par with the rest of the experience - even the requested over-hard eggs came over-easy - a far cry from what we had expected from a restaurant in the Grand Floridian. When we had finally had enough of waiting around for our check, we asked to see a manager which is yet another request that could not be filled, before our waitress sheepishly came out later so we could request our check. While she did remove one of the meals from our total, it was too little too late and we will not be coming back to the cafe or the resort.

I ordered the avocado toast, and it was the worst avocado toast I ever had:(
They serve it with cherry tomatoes, and the cherry tomatoes were the most disgusting tomatoes I’ve ever tried. They are rotten tomatoes. It’s tomatoes that are way over ripe! it should go to garbage not to guests’ plates!!. The quality of that dish was less than Taco Bell food quality. The Avocado 🥑 was sliced super super thin so I didn’t even taste it. I just tasted the bread. Disney resorts should do better 🤨

The people are very, very nice. The place is fantastic to look at and be in. The only real downside is the food is quite bad. We ate here a number of times and always had food that just wasn’t good at all. My wife had one meal that wasn’t remotely edible yet they never offered or gave us a refund.
