I’ve worked in restaurant service for years and know good service when I see it. Mel, the waitress, was rude, ignored us, and never brought the water we asked for. The food was fine but the service ruined the experience.

Ordered delivery. Rice was raw and crunchy on both nigiri and hand rolls. Sashimi (salmon) was covered in slime and not fresh. Tempura shrimp is not actually real tempura and terrible - using some sort of pre-made breadcrumb and burnt. Revolting and would never recommend.

After thinking a lot about whether I should leave a review or not, I decided with full conviction that I should, as a warning. The food is amazing, the fish is fresh, the rice perfectly cooked, and the place has a really cozy vibe. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed all the appetizers and main dishes we ordered. My one star for the restaurant is solely because of the service from our waitress, Mell. In my opinion, service matters a lot when you go to a restaurant. She was completely uninterested in serving us, rude, and it felt like she didn’t want to be there. It seemed more important for her to be on her phone all the time than to pay any attention to the table she was serving. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back, even though the food is absolutely delicious, because I’d have to deal with staff like her again. To the owner, please take a closer look at your employees, because this kind of behavior ends up losing customers, just like it lost me.
