Downtown’s best dance club isn’t downtown anymore. It's located near the Cannery apartments in the Packing District. Mix and mingle to the best alternative sounds of the 80s-90s, spun by DJ Kimball and friends. Enjoy free parking and admission (21 & up) and drink specials until 10pm at Barbarella, now at 4141 John Young Pkwy, Suite 3 | @barbarella

We drive up from Broward County several times a year to enjoy our favorite 80’s new wave/alternative tunes and dance the night away. Love the new low key location because it’s all about the music and caters to the regulars. John is so passionate about serving his “crowd” and it’s appreciated by all who just want to enjoy the music and videos!

If the name is indeed “ Barbarella’s”; I knew her, as the most Beautiful, young lady, whom carried this name, in her Career as Model, in “ old Orlando “ back in the late 60’s, throughout the rest of her life. She truly, is absolutely stunning, and every lens, had their eye on her, from behind the camera, to photograph this truly beautiful girl. She was the ” IT Girl “ by old Orlando standards . Many May remember her., for her beauty, poise, and quite affable, personality. :) ??? Well Done!

John Gardner (who owns this bar) owns a rental behind my house and allows people to rent from him that are abusive and neglect their dogs. Consistently I have asked him to address this problem and he's done nothing.

Not the old Barbarella, but better than being downtown.!!!The music and the crowd has been way better now that their not getting the typical downtown crowd, much more intimate and selective.!!! Parking is free now, so that's a huge plus.!!!The one downside is the lack of an alcohol bar (no bar licence yet) all they can currently serve is pre-canned cocktails which seriously lack the "flavors" of a real mixed drink. The New Barbarella is located in the rear right quarter of an indoor pickleball court and training center in a warehouse. They really need to open up more space for the club though (thousands of square feet left empty and unused inside), the amount of people that have been showing up are more than the space can handle currently, the dancefloor definitely needs/can be larger with the space available in the center, and seating/standing space is seriously lacking with people taking chairs from the sides and putting them on the edge of the dancefloor, and a lot of people end up outside by the loading doors...Other than that, loving the vibe of the old-school Goth crowd and music, including the local respect of the patrons without the stupidity of the downtown crowd.!!!

NOT 18+ even though we had seen multiple posts and reviews saying it was indeed 18+! we were all 20 and turned away even though told they allowed under 21 on multiple websites :( otherwise i bet they’re a great bar !

The bartender was very very rude! I couldn’t get his name but he was working last night (Friday night) he was white, had a little ponytail, brown hair.

It will always be “I-Bar” to me but I still love 80s Saturday nights nonetheless

Bartender was very nice but NOT the 80s vibe we were looking for. This is as strictly alternative. Miss the club dance mix.

Bartender from the independent bar was very rude he shoved me & my friends because we were waiting on one of our other friends to get popcorn. He was white & had a short ponytail brown hair. He definitely doesn’t need to be working with people especially people who are drinking.
