The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The place was clean. I definitely recommend the oxtail. It was perfectly braised, and the Mac and cheese was yummy. The jerk chicken was falling off the bone. It's a little pricey but worth the flavor of the food.
The BEST food in Orlando hands down. I’ve never had food with so much flavor & the portion sizes were amazing. I wish I lived closer, I would be a regular customer. The oxtail, rice & greens are the go to!
This was my first time at Virgin Island Thyme and I was not disappointed! The ribs, tacos and the plantains were great! Though, the fried foods fell short. They had a weird grease taste about them. The staff was helpful and friendly. Overall, good experience!
Came here for the first time on Juneteenth. Probably the best chicken, Mac and cheese, and yucca fries I've ever had. Must try them with the garlic cilantro sauce. Great atmosphere, kind people, good music, amazing food.
So delicious!
Food is delicious, but not very generous.
Thank you, Chef, for bringing some home to my taste buds in exquisite fashion ✨️

I'm from the Virgin Islands and was estatic to find a place I could eat home food- NOT!
The only good thing was the red beans and rice.
Johnny cake- what was that? Not to mention so oily, insides not cooked and these two holes like there are unsure if it's supposed to be a donut or something else.
Coconut shrimp was burnt on the outside, and not cooked on the inside. You could taste the oldness of the oil. We ended up throwing away the food and just considering it as a donation to the restaurant. Won't be going back there.

Great hidden gem in Avalon Park. Fun, island inspired interior that was super clean. Cashier was friendly, and owner came out to check on the food experience. One of us had the jerk chicken, the meat was falling off the bone on first cut. Spice level was right on the money, a little sweet which was unexpected, but good. Fried plantains off the charts good, second only to the collard greens, which my husband said was the best he's ever had. Island ribs were juicy and the sauce was flavorful. Hope more people try this place and keep them busy!

The restaurant itself has a lovely fast-casual ambiance, and I loved the articles and awards displayed on the wall.
The service left much to be desired. The young lady at the front couldn’t offer any recommendations, lacked warmth, and had a flat demeanor.
As for the food, the oxtail ($27) was disappointing. While I tried not to compare it to traditional Jamaican oxtail, it lacked flavor, was undercooked, tough to chew, and came without gravy. The rice and peas were overly salty. The Jerk Chicken ($12, chicken only) didn’t resemble authentic jerk at all—it was more like sweet and spicy BBQ chicken with a sprinkle of thyme.
The oxtail meal portion size was too small for the price. The oxtail fries were appropriately priced though.
On the plus side, the food was served quickly and was hot. I really hope my review doesn’t come off too harshly, because although personally, I wouldn’t return, I think the food may suit the local demographic well. It’s not likely to impress those familiar with Caribbean flavors though.

I, like most others, saw the viral TikTok post and wanted to try the food for myself. The young lady in the front was very friendly and assisted us with navigating the menu. We ordered a smorgasbord. Literally spent almost $200 because we tried something in every category, including dessert. It was good. I thought the oxtail lasagna was a creative concept. The chef/owner even came out and introduced himself personally. Which I thought was a friendly touch. Overall I would 100% recommend. I loved the chefs attempt to step away from the regular traditional Caribbean foods.
Parking: It’s in a large shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking.
