This restaurant features the humor and aesthetic of the Jungle Cruise, but in the format of a sit down restaurant. If you enjoy skipper humor, you'll likely be amused by the jokes made by the staff here. The food itself is good, but I can't say I've ever had anything here that was outstanding. The entertainment and theme are certainly the big draw. There are plenty of days when they have same day reservations available or they open the wait list, so it's not a bad option if you're making some last minute plans.

The pork was tough and the rice was undercooked. The noodles were okay. Overall it was the worst meal I've ever had...

Beautiful restaurant but the food was awful. The chicken was really bland and the breading was soggy. The steak was overdone and tough as a boot. The only thing we enjoyed eating there was the plain rice and chocolate covered bananas. After being recommended this place I’m shocked at just how bad the meal was.

If it wasn't for the absolutely horrible children's "steak", I would happily give our meal five stars. The whole reason I'm writing this reviews because the "steak" on a child's meal was overcooked beyond recognition. We are told that it was Disney's policy to Cook children's steak well done, but I've seen cardboard that is less dry then what they serve my daughter.
We ordered the adult steak frites and they were amazing, the flavor and the cook on them was perfection. The real highlight however was The catch of the Day in lemongrass broth who is flavorful & perfectly seasoned. Our server Alicia was fantastic and incredibly helpful to swap out the kids meal. Alicia also suggested adding a side of coconut rice to the fish of the day which was the perfect combination! We love this restaurant but will never again order the kids steak.

Have been coming to eat here since is one of my favorite places to eat. But! This recently visit I saw that the cachapas they made them really small when there not usually like that. I got told by the server oh yea it depends on the day and who ever is making them they can make it small or even smaller.
So let me get this straight. I can buy a appetizer and I can come to this location for seven days in a row and what they are basically trying to tell me that every single day I can have a different size for the Cachapas so it’s like going to my barber and expecting to pay different price every single day. I never expected to see the Cachapas that small when in the past, I have eaten them and they never come this small

We went to skipper canteen on our Disney vacation last week. We were there during a busy time and were lucky to get an advanced reservation. Everything was good until my husband got food poisoning from the tuna tar tar.
We ate there at around 6 pm (had a 5:30 reservation). At 2 am, he woke up vomiting and it didn’t stop. Without going into details, I warn you, do not order the tuna tar tar at skipper canteen!
Otherwise, the ambience is cool, the other food was good and the service was okay. The servers tell jokes similar to the skippers on the jungle cruise ride.

Overall great atmosphere and service, the restaurant decor is spot on and the servers did their best to make the experience similar to what you get on the Jungle Cruise attraction, but the food was just bland. The steak seemed like it was cooked somewhere else earlier and then brought in and reheated. This was obvious when the kids steak was only available well done. It's a selection you won't get anywhere else in the park, but it's still just foodservice fare thrown together and reheated.

Fun atmosphere, though your experience will really depend on how much the server leans into the Jungle Cruise skipper puns. Food was bland.

Food was ok with smaller portions for that Disney price $$$ There were about 3 vegan options clearly labeled on the menu. The rotating soup of the day also happened to be vegan.
