I came in on Tuesday the 14th I was very excited to eat here. On google it say that they close at 11pm I arrived at 9:50 and I was seated. The waiter comes up takes our drink order and comes back and ask what would we like for dinner. A lot of the items was missing from the menu but I still found an entree I would enjoy. I ordered a crab cake as my appetizer no more than 5 minutes later at 10:10pm the waiter informed me that the kitchen was CLOSED and chef wasn’t taking order but he can make me the crab???? It gave me lazy vibes of the kitchen is closed its closed don’t pick and choose what your willing to make for me that’s convenient for you. Change your time to 10pm closing!!! Instead of 11pm if the kitchen is going to close a whole hour before. I paid for my drink and left I chose this spot over Eddie V’s because I wanted try something different and I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.

We’ve been going to Kalalou Signature since they opened in 2023. My family and myself are big foodies! However I took my mother to Kalalou Signature for her birthday and The wait was extremely long. When the waiter finally bought our meals, the food was cold, the lamb was supposed to be jerk and there was nothing jerked about the lamb!. It was burnt, the black rice tasted old! I’m not the type to complain about food services However, this was worse than Experience! Needless to say, I called the restaurant and made a complaint to the manager. She was very sincere about what happened and offered a complementary meal. I returned and gave the restaurant a second try. When I arrived there no one available to assist us with seating . We sat ourselves, I had to go and get my own menus. We waited for a little over hour to be served. When we received our meals, which was supposed to be oxtail They substituted the oxtail with turkey neck. The sauce tastes old. Once again the food was cold, the black rice was Lukewarm, my friend ordered fried goat and it was bad, not seasoned, This restaurant is very under staffed. Beautiful atmosphere, bad food!

I took my family there for Mother’s Day. My mother and aunt said this was the best dinner they’ve ever had on Mother’s Day. It was their first time eating at this restaurant. Thy found the appetizers to be delicious and authentic to creole cuisine. It was the best fried Akra they’ve ever tasted. The marinade w/shrimp was so well seasoned and crispy . My kids enjoyed their oxtails as well and couldn’t stop eating. The fried goat, pork and plantains were fried to perfection. Soft and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The black mushroom rice was authentic and perfect. The portions were huge, so we all had leftovers to take home. The service was excellent and food came out in a timely manner. The decor and music has a very sophisticated island vibe. I give this place a 10/10. I will definitely be a frequent customer.
Decided to have dinner with my wife. It took a waiter over 30 minutes to attend to us, took up over an hour and 15 minutes to receive the food, and the waiter returned after another 45 minutes. Will not recommend.

This place has good reviews, but my God. This has been the worst place I have been at. The Kalalou on John Young is wayyyy better than this place. At least over there, they care about customer service. I was told they had no appetizer after waiting for an appetizer for 43 mins. Food came an hour later, and customer service was non-existent. I had to go to the bar to get my drinks after 25 mins. Mind you, this is on a Saturday night.

This place is a VIIIIIBE. I usually go on Saturdays because they have a live band that plays wonderful music. On top of this the atmosphere is so chill. Think grown and sexy. They have a very cool smoked old fashion that you have to try. Try all the food, so full of flavor and presentation is beautiful too. I LOVE IT HERE!!
I made reservation to celebrate my father's 82nd surprise birthday about 1 month or so at this restaurant via Instagram and when I didn't receive a response, I call the restaurant to inform them I will need reservation for 30 people on 27th April to celebrate my father. The gentleman I spoke to that day stated he was going to discuss with management and would get back to me. I had two friends reached out to ensured everything was in order and they even reached out the day before and was informed that everything would be in order. They even told then that day a band would be playing. I was very excited as this would have been an unforgettable birthday for my father. The day of the event, someone contacted me couple of hours before to confirm headcount and where I wanted to sit with my party. I informed him we want to sit outside where the band would be playing. Upon our arrival, nothing was setup everyone acted it like this was something new that they had just found out. It took them over 45 minutes to try and figure out what they were going to do. My friends reached out to the co-owner to figure out where we went wrong. The owner contacted management to try and fix everything but management try to cover their screwed up and stated that I wanted the table a certain way that's why things are not ready. By that time my surprise was ruined because the birthday arrived together with everyone waiting for things to get arranged. As if that wasn't enough screwed up, they couldn't even provide us with two dedicated waiter to attend to us slowly. It took nearly 2 hours for food to start coming. By then the birthday didn't want anything to eat since it was already too late. We order 4 count wings for the children but was charged for 8 wings totaling $18 per dish. This place should definitely consider having kids menu. Management never once come out to apologize to the entire group, check up on us or even offer a discount for the inconvenience and their screwed up. There was no band after I promised everyone there would be either a band ot DJ or both. This was a very bad experience and messed up way to celebrate my father turning 82nd birthday. All 30 people in the party complained we even consider leaving but sadly our group was too large to get accommodations elsewhere. This business just lost 30 potential clients.
