I walked around in here and was confused because there was nothing vegan in here.
It would be nice if they labeled the items so you can tell what's vegan. The creme of wheat is made with coconut milk and is vegan. Updated from previous review on 2025-03-13

It's a great place for vegetarians, but confusing for vegans. It's hard to tell which items are vegan, and the staff don't know.
Yeah it was pretty good. Parking is difficult if you're not already at the hospital for another reason other than to eat here.I got the quinoa with tofu, brussel sprouts and home fries. The tofu was surprisingly good but the quinoa was a plain. The brussel sprouts and home fries were also pretty good. The staff isn't all that friendly but they were helpful once you get their attention.

This is a billion dollar hospital system. There’s no need for the food to be this bad

Under the circumstances being there, this Cafe is all vegetarian & our breakfast was wonderful. We were even able to sit out on the patio and enjoy the view.

What a disappointment. What did I expect it's hospital food after all.I went there for breakfast on Friday morning at 8am, while I was visiting my friend at the hospital. It was quite busy being Friday morning and all.I saw a video monitor advertising a "Acai breakfast bowl", that looked interesting and delicious. I asked the cafeteria worker, "I would like to get a Acai breakfast bowl."The rude employee shortly replied "I don't have that here, you have to order that over there!" She flicked her hand at me, motioning to the other side of the cafeteriaI said Thank you and went over to the other counter and waited in the substantially longer line. When I reached the counter, I said "I would like a Acai Breakfast Bowl please?" The cashier told me "We don't have those." I told her the other worker told me that you had them and to order it over here. She replied " We do have them, we just don't have them today." I was so confused.Instead, I order a mixed berry smoothie and a white chocolate mocha. They both arrived fairly quickly.Afterwards I went back over to the "hot side" of the cafeteria. I ordered scrambled eggs, two breakfast sausage and tater tots. The portions were miniscule, considering the inflated, hospital price tag. The largest portion was the tater tots, which were served ice cold at best. The eggs were barely existent and the sausage was dry and flavorless. The mixed berry "smoothie" tasted like berry flavored ice. Very grainy and it had a off-putting consistency. The only appetizing thing was the white chocolate mocha. I guess it's pretty hard to screw up Espresso. My final bill was $18.00. I felt swindled and worse, I left there still feeling hungry. In my opinion, if you want to have breakfast while visiting someone at this hospital, Don't eat here. You're budget will Thank you.Oh well, you get what you pay for. What was I expecting a Michelin star restaurant? It's hospital food for Christ's Sake!Once a Foodie, Always a Foodie!
Vegetarian options: They have meatless varieties of common breakfast items. Sausage, Bacon, etc...

The food is great
It's a cafe in a hospital.
We visited Lakeside Cafe tonight for dinner and the food was very good. The service was awesome. Andres, Duglas and Victoria were very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend.
