We had not been to Le Coq au Vin for about 6 years. We always loved the food and service. It did not disappoint. The Shrimp Andre appetizer is our very favorite. I had a lovely tile fish and my husband, the pork schnitzel. Both were delicious and served hot. We enjoyed wine with our meal. To top the evening off we had the crepes suzette, freshly prepared by the pastry chef. Our Servers were absolutely wonderful. Thanks for making our anniversary a special evening!

Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Paper menuS, paper tablecloths, cheap art on the walls, bacon bits in the onion tart, no poisson bronze, NO CHOCOLATE SOUFFLÉ, and a truly terrible Crepes Suzette substitute. A good for the average diner restaurant that was once excellent for the discerning diner.

A great dining experience with friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. Great food and ambience. My wife and I dine here at each wedding anniversary or special occasion. At our last visit, we were treated to a complimentary glass of champagne after mentioning we were celebrating our anniversary. I highly reccomend this establishment.

My daughter and I wanted to celebrate some great grades so we chose an Orlando classic. Cool atmosphere much like you'd expect at a French country house. Food was excellent and Valli, our server, was just the best! The menu was simple but we wanted to try everything on it. Go try it!

Since 1976 and headed by the Central Florida's only world-certified master chef, Reimund Pitz and his wife Sandy, in partnership with chef Louis and Magdalena Perotte, Le Coq Au Vin offer upscale French country dining. Located at 4800 South Orange Avenue in Orlando, at Gatlin Avenue, in the Edgewood community, it is open from 5:30 to 8:30 Tuesday through Saturday and has been acclaimed as "the best French restaurant in Central Florida." The hor d'oeuvres are especially delicious, a wonderful way to beginning a truly enjoyable fine dining experience. My wife and I had escargot, Shrimps Andre with shrimp, tomatoes, capers and beurre blanc, baked brie wrapped in a puff pastry and served with apples, caramel sauce and toast and tomato salad with tomato concasse topped with assorted cherry tomatoes, wild greens, goat cheese and onion shallot tarragon vinaigrette. For an entree, my wife chose braised chicken with red wine, mushrooms, bacon onions, vegetables and potatoes. I chose tenderloin of beef with a blue cheese crust, port wine sauce, vegetables and potatoes. For dessert, we shared chocolate and raspberry souffles. Curiously, we don't encounter too many authentic French restaurants in our travels so when we do, we always make it a point to indulge. In Orlando, Le Coq Au Vin draws many five-star reviews. Like this one.

My family ate there last night for a celebration. We're all from out of state so had to trust reviews. We were NOT disappointed! WOW!!! We had hors d'oeuvre, soup, entrees, and dessert and everything was delicious. We've had dinners at the Manor in West Orange, NJ, Del Frisco's at Rockefeller Center, and Smith and Wollensky in Boston. We know good food. And Le Coq au Vin is GOOD FOOD!Parking: Plenty of parking

Restaurant was clean and well visited. However, when we sat down, my husband didn't have a bread plate. We asked the waiter for one and he looked completely confused and said each table only got one...not true looking around, plus each of us had a butter knife (albeit different kinds) rolled with our other cutlery in our napkins. My husband took one from the empty table next to us. When we arrived, the restaurant was sparsely filled, yet it took more than 7 minutes to be brought our wine, and another 5 for bread. By this time the table next to us had 2 couples, which another waiter promptly knocked over their pitcher of water on the table and them. We remarked the menu was more limited than what was on the internet. The waiter said "yeh, it's an old menu on Google from 2 years ago." Okay...Also, one of the dishes in this French restaurant was pork schnitzel...what?! The woman at a nearby table had that and it was two large pieces of beige meat covered with gravy. Hmmm. My husband had the special crusted salmon with mustard sauce, which he said was quite good. I had seared scallops in bearnaise sauce with droopy asparagus less than half the diameter of a pencil. My scallops were tough, yet no over-cooked. The bearnaise sauce was good. The woman at the table next to us had the scallops as well, and hers were tough too, and she said tasteless. It was our joint birthdays, so we were given one creme Brule and two glasses of champagne, "on me" according to the waiter. All in all, we will not go back. There are too many other really good restaurants in the area.

Absolutely amazing food. Every bite from starters to dessert were delicious. BUT EVEN MORE AMAZING IS THEIR PRICES...the bill came with starters, soup, main meal, dessert and wine for under $100.00 each. Now to be clear and put it in perspective it was about $30.00 each cheaper than Flemings where we ate a couple of nights earlier with no starters or desert. The filet was far superior to Flemings. Their steak and fish was some of the best we have eaten. The waiter was very good but a little hard to understand and not overly friendly. But again wow...I don't handout 5 stars very easily but this is well deserved.

This traditional French restaurant has been part of the culinary scene in Orlando since 1976. As my wife and I had a few milestones to celebrate our daughter placed a reservation for us. Even though the establishment is not located in the most “charming” part of the city it’s ambiance is inviting. We’ve ordered Tuna Poke foi Hour D’Oeuvres (not pictured) which is Ahi Tuna and macerated avocado with a sesame spiced marinate and it was the perfect appetizer, really tasty! My wife was eager to try the Poulet “Coq au Vin” and we ordered it and also the Pork Schnitzel for me.The highlight of both dishes was the excellent sauces in which they were cooked, simply delicious. My wife commented how well balanced her poulet dish was. She normally always share portions of her dishes with me but not this one! She had it all for herself! The Schnitzel is a large portion of trimmed breaded pork chop enough to feed two hungry people. We capped our delicious meal with a crème brûlée that was also very tasty and light on sugar (kudos!!!).The server who waited on us was very courteous and the service was very fast with very minimal time to receive our orders. Some items of the menu were not available but that didn’t spoil our experience.Le Coq au Vin is highly recommended for its excellent cuisine and we hope to return in brief!

I loved the food. The Vouvry wine was fabulous. I loved our server Dino. This is a must if you can go. We loved it and my husband is a classically trained French chef.

Finally got in here after having my eye on the place for literally a decade. Didn't know, walking in at prime time on a Saturday night, if I was asking for a two-hour wait. I wasn't: I was seated promptly. The menu was a little more limited than I had imagined, but had everything I could have hoped for. Appetizer was an onion tart: lots of bacon along with the sauteed onion on top. (Maybe next time I'll be brave enough to try the escargots!) Had a hard time deciding between the pork schnitzel (is that a French thing?) and the mustard-crusted salmon. The schnitzel was a huge slab of fried crunchy under a rich mushroom gravy, with sides of red cabbage (savory, not too sour) and a smidge of mashed potato. Another tough choice for dessert: lava cake or creme brulee? The latter: a solid choice. The couple next to me chatted me up: I think they may have been the owners! Service was good and not stuffy (even after I ordered my de rigeur Diet Coke!)

My first time trying this place, but treated my friend for her birthday dinner. We chose the Magical Dining special. Food was very bland and did not seem fresh. My whipped potatoes had a crust on the outside like they were reheated on the plate. The chicken cordon blue was taste less. I'd have been happier with a frozen Barber version. My friend had the filet tips which were described as "like beef stew" by the server. The carrots were good, but the beef had the texture of canned dog food. Our server did a good job but the food was huge disappointment. My friend mentioned it tasted like it was out of a can and the server apologized.Huge waste of $100!

My 1st experience. I have traveled past the restaurant for years. The experience & food was okay. I had the vegetarian option and it was a bit different (prep, plating & presentation). The ambiance of the restaurant is great. Staff was pleasant. The waiter reminded us that if we wanted souffle to order it upfront so that it won't be as long of a wait. We felt like the price of what we had was a bit exorbitant for the food and drinks. Souffle was tasty.

Tried this place out for magical dining! What a quaint little restaurant! It has the feel of grandma's house for ambiance and they have a delectable selection of French cuisine. I would highly recommend saving room for the crepe Suzette at the end of the night! Next time I will be trying the scallops!
