The vegan chilli cheese fries were fine for the price. The food is freshly prepared and the portion size is good. However, they tend to serve chilli sin carne with vegan cheese. It's quite tasty because it's well flavoured and there are plenty of beans in it. However, it is not spicy.
Unfortunately, the organisation is very poor. It takes quite a long time from ordering to receipt. And that's actually only for fries.

Despite the huge lines, the wait time wasn’t long at all. Food was tasty and good portion sizes. Milkshakes and chilli cheese fries are definitely worth a try. Good retro theme inside. Ordering online on the app is a quicker option to avoid the queues especially at noon.

Went to Halloween Horror Nights this evening. Was really looking forward to Mel's Diner. The park was so busy! Mel's had just 1 person taking orders. I saw so many orders wrong. Who ever the manager was on shift around 10 p.m. should be replaced. My wait did not need to be near that long! It was an awful experience. I will find somewhere else next time.

I had an extremely bad experience choosing to eat at Mel’s dinner. I went on Labor Day the park was not that busy. I waited outside in a line maybe 15 minutes. That was not that bad once inside it took 5 min to order. My sister was at one register and I at the second one we ordered at the same time. Unfortunately they hade only 4 employees in the back preparing the food and 2 in the front serving. The workers in the front had a disaster with all the food tickets.At some point I saw a manager try to help employees on the floor but this made it worse, sine she look like she had no idea what she was doing.. After waiting 20 minutes my sister received her food and went to sit down to eat I waited a total of 35 minutes to receive my food at this point I was upset since they served 7 people after my sister and again we order at the same time. I ask the server and his response was your next I was so upset I told him how could it be since I was waiting for more than 30 minutes and explained that they pass 7 orders after I ordered and he just turned away got my food and gave it to me with no explanation. My food was cold. This place is a disaster.

Right next to the lagoon. I like the idea that the staff ensures the table is available before they let you in to order. You still need to be in line to order the food. They ask your name when you make an order. Later, they will call your name to pick up your order. Food is good, and price is reasonable. They will give you cups to fill in water at no cost when you ask.

Stopped here with the family to break up a long drive and was very happy we did. There is a reason this place is one of the higher rated venues in the surrounding area. The food was yummy, the bathroom was clean, and the service was top notch. They brought our food outside to us while we waited in the shade of some lovely big trees. There is also an excellent green space adjacent to the picnic tables which was perfect for the kids to run off their extra energy. We ended up hanging out for over an hour total. Will definitely stop here again.
Parking: Handful of spots directly near the restaurant which can be tricky to navigate if the drive thru line is full, but plenty of spaces in the lots adjacent.
Kid-friendliness: Great kid approved food options and a decent place to stretch your legs, throw a frisbee, or blow some bubbles on a pit stop.
