The place is nice and clean, but the prices are too steep for a local unknown eatery, so bring a big appetite cuz they serve a good portion and a lot of cash or credit cards to pay for the bill afterwards 😆

I don’t know what’s happened at mi viejo san juan but it used to be a great place for me my Spanish girlfriend to have dinner every Friday and Saturday and sometimes for lunch, the music and atmosphere was great, the music and food are still good but something is missing we had such great relations with the waitresses that worked there back in the days
It’s not the same anymore. ☹️

We went to the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon to celebrate my sisters' graduation 🎓. We were told that they are under new ownership and had changed the menu adding more Mexican dishes to it. The menu still has Puerto Rican dishes available and the server told us that we could still order a la carte. The server named Karen was friendly and pleasant as well as the atmosphere. The food was fresh, tasted good and we received a good portion on our plates. I will return.

Look, they are under new management and trying new menus and new dishes, but don’t let that fool you! Try them out! They still have the same food from before, just named differently. We went as a mother daughter lunch date today, and I can say I’ve never seen my mom eat as much as she did! We admit we were lost with the menu, but have no fear just ask Sonia our server and she made it simple! Mom just wanted some sort of meat and we went from there. Don’t just stick to the words on the menu, ask them! They will clarify anything and tell you closest to what you desire. We had the bistec encebollado and bistec empanizado and it was deeeeeelish. Yes there’s New Mexican plates on the menu and know what? I’m going to try them next time! The place was quiet since it was early, but so clean and they were so attentive. Give them a chance! They listen to your comments or honest feedback, which all places should! Mom has said that now she wants to go once a week or every other week to try something new and they have won her over and who am I to say no to my mom, so it shall be!

Omg, the service and attention to details was amazing.
I have to say they even thought I live in Daytona beach I’ll be back.
Also our waitress Sonia was amazing and attentive to our needs. I also want to say that when I went to tip her I made a mistake in my addition, but to my amaze, when I called the restaurant to tell them of my error I spoke to Sonia and explain my error. She said I knew what the percentage of my tip was so I adjusted the bill. I had mad an error of more than $40.
Sonia is a a very honest individual.
Thank you and congratulations to you all.
Very satisfied customer,

Today my wife and I walked into the restaurant, this used to be mother’s favorite PR restaurant and we were disappointed due to the new owners changing the menu. The restaurant lost its ambience, it would have a loop of PR playing on the TV, at times it would have a gentleman playing music. Now it’s the Roku screensaver and no music.
Today they also had a technical issue as their WiFi service stopped working and they can only take in cash, this is not an issue but both my wife and I noticed that the food was much more expensive and a bottle of beer almost $7. The menu lost much of the PR menu that I loved and now it has a Mexican menu. This will be our last time here, and I will not bring my mother here at all. I will have to find another restaurant that had a simple PR menu.
