Amazing food and wonderful experience! The restaurant was in a cave and it was so cool. Definitely recommend making a reservation in advance so you don’t have to wait. The food is worth it and the service was great.
This is not your average theme park restaurant! We were at Universal for our 40th wedding anniversary and had our anniversary dinner at Mythos. The restaurant is beautiful. We had a very nice table for two by the window and our server, Kailyn, was perfect, very attentive and personable. We shared the spanakopita dip for starters. My husband had the beef tenderloins and I had the pan roasted salmon. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious and we cleaned our plates. When we mentioned to Kailyn that it was our 40th anniversary, she came back to say that the restaurant was comping our desserts. I had the creme brulee and my husband had banana bread pudding. My dessert came on a tray with two lit candles, a blue and a pink one, and 'congrats" in writing in chocolate. Never once did we feel rushed even though the restaurant was very busy. We have traveled a lot both in the States and abroad and this meal was one of the best we've ever had--an outstanding dining experience in every way.
We were really forward to Mythos but our experience was less than steller. Our reservation was changed to a little earlier by the restaurant to 6:45 and the park closed at 7:00 and we felt really rushed. The food was just ok. Not a great time.
All of our entrees were excellent! The service provided by Jamie was spectacular! My beef medallions were delicious and I would love the recipe for the mashed potatoes (the best I have ever tried)! My son’s bacon cheeseburger was also very tasty and the fries so crunchy! There was nothing left on plates!
Gorgeous lunch. Food about the best we had during our 2 week stay. Service was great. We shared appetisers and an entree, generous portions. Totally recommend the mushroom risotto with scallops. Cocktails were huge !!
Mythos stands out for its immersive design and attentive staff—it’s not your average theme park restaurant. The cave-inspired interior adds a cool touch, and the service feels genuinely welcoming. While the food presentation is strong, some dishes could use a bit more flavor depth. It’s a great spot to relax and recharge, especially if you’re looking for something more refined inside the park. Just be prepared for slower pacing during peak hours. Overall, a worthwhile stop if ambiance and hospitality matter to you.
We went to Universal’s Mythos restaurant for a family meal on our last day of our holiday and Logan was our server who made our experience extra special! He was very cheerful and made sure everything was okay with our meal. We found his service was the best we had received in the two weeks that we have been at Universal Studios. A real credit to Logan and I hope he gets the recognition that he truly deserves! The food was excellent and the setting was lovely, will definitely be back again soon!
Myself and my wife was very excited to eat at mythos at islands of adventure. We had previously eaten there many times over the years and always had a lovely meal. Unfortunately tonight was a poor experience for us as we waited over half an hour for our mains and they were lukewarm and soggy when they arrived. my wife had to wander round the restaurant looking for a member of staff to ask for a hotter meal. The waitress responded with 'ohh do you want me to do something about that' (the main was soup!) and didn't apologise. The main then returned with a slightly hotter plate but it appeared there was a slight increase in hot soup that still over the same lukewarm soup. We called the manager over who confirmed she would remove the meal from the bill and include a pudding free of charge although this was still with attitude and no apology and charged me in full even thought i had eaten about half of the soggy burger and left nearly all the overdone fries and had shown here the poor quality of the meal. Our server who we had barely seen then asked me twice for a tip even though the meal had been unsuccessful and was completely absent during us trying to eat the food. There was also no apologies issued as we left unfortunately. Usually mythos is very good service and high quality food and this was demonstrated last friday when we ate there. We always leave a generous tip for the hard working staff but this was not on show this particular time.
More of a walkthrough section of IOA at the moment (a revamp/replacement is in progress and we’re excited to hear what it will be), Lost Continent has lost it’s mojo, but the stand out restaurant, Mythos remains and maintains its superb reputation as one of the best theme park restaurants on the planet. Atmosphere was authentic and service top notch. We had Robert from New York and he took excellent care of us. Menu guidance, consistent check-in, drinks promptly refilled. The entire staff made us feel appreciated as customers. The food was excellent, of course. My wife and I shared the couscous bowl and calamari appetizer. We were full. An excellent choice for a great restaurant off the beaten path.
We had such high expectations to dine at Mythos. Sadly, we were very disappointed over just about everything. We made a reservation for a party of 8 and without even asking we were devided between two tables of 4. The tables were even served as two separate ones so one table already had their food finished before the other one was even served! And then there's the food... it just doesn't live up to the price. For 30 bucks you're served one small lukewarm skewer of kebab on a tinietiny bit of couscous and chickpeas with 3 triangles of fleatbread and some tzatziki. The meals taste just bland and the entree is enough to feed a kid but surely not an adult The decor in the restaurant is nice but noisy, we needed to raise our voices in order to communicate with each other. We had such high expectations and were hoping to be blown away by the "#1 Theme Park Restaurant in the world", sadly we came to the conclussion that this was our worst meal we had in the past 2 week staying in the Orlando-area.

Mythos Restaurant We were burning up at Universal and needed somewhere to eat and take a break from the sun. It was a killer hot day in Florida @ 97 degrees. Walked in and the air-conditioning felt amazing. Was able to seat us in less than 5 minutes for lunch. Brought over waters quick👍 We decided to just order a bunch of apps for the 4 of us. The waiter was friendly and quick and food came out quick. Wow for amusement park food I was so surprised, because it was delicious. I think their Baba Ghanoush was some of the best I have eaten. We will definitely return when we r at Universal.
Do not waste your money. If you like cold food this is the place for you, booked this place up months in advance as part of our holiday, solely based on reviews. Ordered drinks and starters, our host was a pleasant man who was very knowledgeable and helpful. Our drinks where served, soon followed by our starters, we where no longer than 5 minutes into our first course when our mains where delivered and thrust upon us by a rude waitress and a team leader (black shirt). I asked them we where not ready as we where eating our starters, they seemed unbelievably surprised by my refusal to accept our main courses, which would of gone stone cold on the table. They took them away. I emphasised the fact that we would want fresh hot food not reheated food on there return. We finished our starters, main courses where then served. As I expected every dish was cold, my dish was then returned fork knife and spoon cheese sandwich, it was presented back but still cold, I did not want to create a fuss or get into conflict with any of the serving staff after a long day in the park,we just wanted to eat our meals and continue our holiday. Our host waiter asked how we where, we told him how disappointed we where of not just the cold food but the rushed presentation of it. If we wanted fast food we would of gone to get fast food. The whole experience of this establishment is behind us now, as we continue our holiday, we even booked our last day dinner here but have now cancelled. Best restaurant winner! Never. $250 dollars cold dinner for 4
I booked a reservation here based on a few recommendations, but I was a little nervous because my spectrum kid has specific tastes. After reviewing the menu, we figured she'd be safe with someone from the kids' menu. The restaurant is blissfully chilly when you come inside from the heat and humidity (think: surface of the sun.) I had the tomato soup to start, which I'm still thinking about nearly a year later, and the pad thai. Our server was kind and attentive, and the food was filling. The decor is a little strange but very immersive. The entry area felt a little tight with different groups waiting for their reservations or for a table to open up. The area around the restaurant doesn't appear to be used by Universal right now; I think I read that it's an attraction that isn't open any longer. Because of that, we walked right by at first and doubled back; we had the map on the app but it didn't appear to be as clearly marked as it could've been. Overall, we'd return and enjoy a break from the heat. I'm not sure the restaurant has the cult following it used to, but it's absolutely worth a visit for a break and some filling meals.
I ate here years ago when Mythos was winning their highly proclaimed awards. It was fantastic. However, Theme Park Insider doesn't give a restaurant award, anymore. They stopped in 2023. Mythos last won in 2022. So, it is a bit funny and misleading to continue to promote itself as a great award winning restaurant when the award itself has been defunct for a couple of years. Today, I see very little of the old Mythos. Service was only adequate, we did see our waiter a couple of times. Food was mediocre--even for a simple burger. Most irritating: the food didn't come out for 50 minutes!!!! We wanted to get back to the rides and we had to wait forever for simple choices on a very limited menu. In fact, I was so disgusted that when I went to the restroom, I counted how many tables actually had food and how many were waiting. Literally 3/4s of all tables were waiting on their food.--I can only imagine a Ramsey's nightmare in the kitchen. To the restaurant's credit: the beef medallions and the potato puree were excellent. But, the meal, overall, was subpar.
My husband and I arrived at Mythos on the first night of our holiday after making a reservation in advance. We arrived on time and was seating quickly, we ordered our food, I am vegan and was very specific in stating this, my food then arrived with feta cheese on and some sauce also not vegan. My husband called over who I think was the manager he apologised and said he would deduct from the bill and see to it himself I got a fresh meal which was vegan friendly. After 30 minutes or so my meal finally arrived, my husband had eaten his ages before my 2nd meal came but I was starving by this point so tucked in, it was cold and had obviously been sat a while, but I ate it and we paid, I didn’t see the point in raising this issue as I really was hungry and didn’t want to wait even further. The right thing to do would have been to take my husbands meal too so we could eat together, it was also our our anniversary which put a downer on the evening also. I wouldn’t go back as I felt they didn’t care and spoilt our night. The waiter who took our order never apologised either nor did we see the manager again or anyone check our meals were ok at anytime, just not good service at all. It’s really sad as we come to Orlando 2 to 3 times per year and have always gone to Mythos on our first night; it’s been a tradition but sadly no more.
