Tried to get the bartender to make the 1970s Monorail Yellow and was basically told to get lost. They had never heard of it and when I said a video had been made there with another bartender making it she was snarkily said from what year?! I said from August. I also said it’s in the Disney 50th cookbook. Obviously got the wrong bartender on a bad day (sunday, 12/1). I decided to just get up and leave because she wasn’t going to even be cordial about saying no. Should have asked at the excellent Steakhouse 71 Lounge which I went to after this fiasco.

We went there while waiting for the fireworks and it was our 1st wedding anniversary and Jason took care of us and he was VERY VERY negative from the moment we sat down… no magic was made here at the outer rim. Every word that came from his mouth was not positive from the moment we sat down. We WILL NOT EVER come back Not only did he say “oh I see you came with a drink but he oh you cannot see them from up there… but then after I corrected him and said we were just up there and you definitely could see the Epcot ball… which means you can see the fire works…. He then also told us NOT to see epcot’s fireworks from California grill because it was not worth our time because you could BARELY SEE THEM (which he was VERY wrong because they were beautiful)…. We were upstairs at California Grill with Becky for dinner ( she wasAMAZING) and came down here for a drink before we went up for fireworks and regret ever leaving their bar up there… simply because the negative attitude of the bartender… so sad that Disney has employees so sad with their lives and negative…. This IS NOT making magic…. And kinda ruined our 1st wedding anniversary. Not okay Disney…. This employee was very anti Disney and not happy to be making magic for the guests.. so sad we chose to come here for our anniversary

Spent a week at the Contemporary and after a long day at the park, this is just the kind of place I was looking for. Nick might be the best bartender on property and Liz the waitress was awesome too. They don't serve food, but the Contempo Cafe is right next door so you can walk over, grab your food, and bring it back. The drinks are great, and while you pay a Disney premium, I felt like compared to a lot of other things there it was worth it. Look forward to going back.

Outer Rim is my 2nd favorite Disney World hotel bar after the Tambu Lounge at the Poly. It was where I had my first Schofferhofer German Pilsner which I am drinking as I text this. Besides that, it has some of the best views of Bay Lake, great bartender/cast and awesome drinks. It's where we start our Monorail hops and load up for Magic Kingdom fireworks watching.
