Alex's Gyro and cheesesteaks

My first visit today and I was impressed. The Philly cheesesteak was amazing! My husband had the original gyro and he gobbled it down so fast! I swear I blinked and the sandwich was gone! So good. The staff are friendly and the shop, though a bit out dated as far as decor, was still clean and well kept. I would definitely eat here again

I’m shocked at the reviews…it’s a no. Definitively, no. The guy running the show has the professionalism and personality of the Seinfeld Soup Nazi, but doesn’t have the food to match. The gyro had wilted lettuce and maybe 8 micro dice pieces of tomato…there seemed to be a spoon of plain yogurt flopped in the pita, no flavor. Generous portion of lamb, but unmentionable seasoning…no hints of oregano, cumin, cardamom…nothing.

Seemingly everything else is frozen. Chicken strips are dumped from a bag into a fryer. The fish wash mushy…not flaky…again no seasoning. Fries were barely cooked, no brown crispy texture…just soft mushy potato.

No fountains…combos come with whatever cans of soda are left in fridge. The colored menu tiles on wall have prices apparently from years ago…rings up higher price. The bearded dude was short and curt when asked a couple questions. Just a culinary abomination all around.

We tried the Philly Cheesesteak combo, and it absolutely hit the spot! The portions were incredibly generous for the price, and the flavor did not disappoint. The sandwich was packed with meat and melted cheese rich, satisfying, and delicious. The wings were also a standout crispy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor.

While the wait was a bit long, it was totally worth it once the food arrived. The only tweak we’d suggest is adding a little heat but that’s just a personal preference.

My son loved the chicken nuggets and fries combo crispy, tasty, and kid approved! With great food, solid prices, and a menu that has something for everyone, we’ll definitely be coming back.

Nice local spot. I ordered the philly cheesesteak combo and was pleasantly surprised. Only thing, make sure you ask for no salt on your fries. My fries had too much salt! But the sandwich was delicious.

Whole order wrong. I get some mistakes happen but pay attention to the notes. Mustard is not mushrooms.

I never really write reviews but this place deserves 1. I ordered the lamb gyro, philly cheese steak combo(with extra cheese), and a cheeseburger... everything was made fresh to order, was seasoned just right, and was hot/delicious. I'm originally from NJ and have spent a lot of time in NY and PA so I know a good cheese steak and this cheese steak was the 1st cheese steak I have gotten in FL that I can say was equivalent in taste and quality to what I used to get up North. The gyro, cheeseburger, and fries were all delicious as well. We will definitely be ordering again.

ALEX'S has the BEST FOOD - VERY generous amount, best taste bc of QUALITY food, whatever u get it will b PERFECT. Wide variety of choices, esp helpful and safe for ppl w/severe allergies (me). BEST CHEESESTEAK in Orlando?‍♀️
REAL Gyros!!! (I can even get the gyro over rice!!!?)
My entire workplace loves Alex's, and when customers waiting in our lobby ask what's good to eat near here, i tell them "Alex's" and then give them the phone # bc the # is saved in my phone?. Our customers have given the highest praise for how good the food is and how much food they give u!!! I say, "Yep"???
I took my nbr there, and he now goes frequently ²?
My sons are huge fans and are so happy when i bring a box from Alex's?
Reliable (been there FORever???), always consistent quality, great taste, and NICE employees.
Oh, and prices are definitely reasonable considering u r getting good quality food and a massive amount of food, every time? New re-model is very nice looking.

Honestly, they’ve got some of the most delectable cheesesteaks I’ve ever had. The quality of the beef is top notch. And obviously I wouldn’t be doing all this talking in the review if their service wasn’t great.
