Stopped here on the Pub Pass visit. This was our 1st visit and will be our last.
Service was terrible. The menus were on the digital board flashing so fast, and it was difficult to even get a paper menu to look at. There were maybe 2. The beer, ok, nothing special. We ordered food, which apparently partners with Cecils Texas Style Bar-B-Q next door. Just a pork sandwich and a grilled cheese. 40 minutes later, still no food. The bar was not that busy. Maybe 10 people in it. We asked about the food, and they came out with 1 of the 2 dishes, and it was ice cold. It clearly was sitting there awhile. Did not eat it. The other meal came out maybe 10 minutes after that. So, 50 minutes later got our cold food at 2 different times. At that point, it was time to go. No desire to eat the cold food.
If another business is going to affect your business, maybe its not a good idea to partner with that business.
We had a great evening playing trivia at the RockPit. Food was yummy. You are not waited on…you have to go up to the bar and place your order. They do bring your food out to you but for any additional drinks/food/service you have to go to the bar to get them. So not a full service restaurant but wasn’t a problem for us.
I have been going to Rockpit regularly for about 4 years. Depending on the season, you will find some crazy different beers that are always worth a try. Their regular “always on” beers are great and there is a flavor for everyone. My absolute favorite is their seasonal Marzen with a close second to the always available red ale called Mustache Ride. The beer names are sometimes tongue n cheek and that truly is the nature of Rockpit.
Besides beer, the team has developed moonshines and vodka drinks. I absolutely love the cinnamon vanilla moonshine called Paul’s fault. My new go-to drink is an old fashion with Paul’s fault moonshine. They are always experimenting with new drinks and new flavors of moonshine. There is definitely a flavor for everyone.
The main reason I go every week (or twice/thrice a week) is for the staff. The owners, Chris and Sean, are always around making sure everyone is having a good time. The bartenders are funny and loving. They will not put up with rude customers, but will treat you like family if you are a good human. These are some of the hardest working people and they absolutely love working with each other. Sometimes they might be goofing around and having fun with other customers. You might have to wait a minute or two but I’d rather see people having fun at their job then be served super fast by disgruntled people.
This place will always be number one brewery in Orlando for me. (And I’ve been to almost all of them in Central Florida!)
The homemade cocktails and moonshine are very nice. The cocktail I drank was not sweet, but good and original. (Gin with lime and thyme). I tried the Apple Pie moonshine shot too - I’ll be back for more, and to try the food too!
The band playing was The King Tides. Lots of fun. We’ll be back! A real plus for Orlando. Just needs a bit more diversity.
Great atmosphere and drinks. They were out of a few drinks on their menu. Their selection of moonshine is amazing, so we got a flight of the moonshine. The keylike moonshine is a must.
The connected bbq food is good, though you could get more for your money other places. The convenience is worth the cost to order bbq, moonshine, beer, and cocktails from the bar staff. A great place to hang out and play the provided games. The atmostsphere is like you are in a mine.
They are turning 7 years old next week and I see why they have been around for 7 years.
***Update for clarification on food
You can get better deals on food if you are not looking for BBQ. If you are looking for BBQ, this is close to what a standard BBQ place would be for pricing and quantity.
This is a cool place. They have a really nice view, great atmosphere, but they have horrible parking to be honest. Great customer service though.
Everyone was so friendly. The drink selection has something for everyone. If you like old fashions, you have to try their cold brew old fashion. I wanted to take the ice cube with me to chew on so as not to waste any. And being able to order Cecil's BBQ right there is the icing on the cake. AND they are dog friendly!!
Always a good time at Rockpit. Tasty beer and great tunes.
Good brewpub, lots of their own beers on tap, friendly staff.
Great beer and food from next door!

Went responding to a free beer flight advertisement from their email. When you are at the bar and click the redemption link it doesn't work and then ( in my caae) Daaann told me he will not honor it and try to sell it for 12$. For me it was false advertisement. They are very funny in their emails but not friendly in reality,,,, at least with me,,, so disappointing.
This was a great place! Went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was surprisingly busy, but the bartendress really was great keeping up with everyone! And they have a great array of beer!!
Awesome spot with great BBQ from the restaurant next door!
We came here once and they barely had any seating at all, so we sit at a table in an area that was “reserved” for a huge party to come in later where everyone else was sitting in the meantime.
The party never showed and they still forced us to move with NO OTHER SEATING AVAILABLE INSIDE.
We had a table full of food, drinks, appetizers and they tried forcing us to move outside in the sun in 98 degree heat.
This was completely unacceptable so we asked for some common courtesy to have another table or area already ready for us inside in the AC and everyone else who was forced to get up and just stand there like idiots.
There is no shade outside, there is no comfortable seating outside of this establishment.
This was so embarrassing and disrespectful
In my 13 years working in restaurants and bars, we would never even dare do this to customers and these guys here at Rockpit made it seem like it’s a regular occurrence.
The real kicker here is that huge party for trivia showed up about 2 hours past their reservation time so even after we were forced to move, nobody from that party showed up until an hour and half later
This created hostility and made us and a few others feel like we were unwelcome here. Most of the people who were forced to move ended up leaving and it was obvious they weren’t happy at all about this either.
Why would you treat your customers like this?
We’ve never gone back since and it was so beyond disappointing because this was one of our favorite breweries in the city.
We’ve been regular customers at Cecil’s BBQ attached to here since 2009.
There’s much better ways to do these things.
One of the owners/managers were there too and they saw everything going on and they didn’t even acknowledge it.
We ended up sitting at the bar once we stood around for about 15 minutes with all our beer and food in hand and sat beside that owner/manager and he never once apologized or acknowledged us.
It was so extremely awkward for both them and us.
All they had to do was acknowledge us and do their due diligence.
We’ll probably never come back here and we’re still a bit sad about the whole thing.
Owner tammy should have stayed out of our business. And I never got the mug I payed for
