It has finally opened. I kept driving by just waiting.
Florida has had a depressive number of “daily” donut shops. Places where you aren’t spending $7 a donut. There was always Dunkin’, but their donuts are legitimately awful. They survive because of their coffee.
Shipley’s didn’t disappoint. The kolaches were perfect and a great flavor with the right consistency. The donuts were fluffy and fresh. It was the perfect donut experience. The staff were kind, people were smiling, it was a wonderful experience that I intend to revisit as often as possible.
UPDATE: October 15 Sign on the door indicating that it will reopen in October. As of today, they are still closed.

I love their sausage/egg/cheese kolache, but at this point I cannot recommend this location. The last time I ordered a cake w chocolate and sprinkles - received no sprinkles; ordered a S/E/C kolache and there were only two pieces of sausage. Decided to give them another shot 3 days later - they were closed with no comm/notice. Called, emailed, reached out on social media - no response - but eventually they updated that the store would be closed until June 28. Unsure if they’ve been open the past week, but now they’re closed again due to no electricity. At this point, an hour round-trip was wasted twice and won’t be done again.
ETA: just noticed that the sign in my picture is the same which was posted on google three weeks ago, so Shipley has ghosted Orlando 🤣 that’s funny (to me)
The drama doesn’t end: just received 3 coupons in the mail w an apology letter, but the closest location is now 2h20min away in Jacksonville 🤣 make it make sense. 🙄

So I went maybe a week or two ago for the first time to check them out, it’s almost an hour round trip, just to find a piece of copy paper taped to the door that you can’t even read unless you get out of your car to hold it still because some genius only taped the top lol. Written in marker it says closed for electrical reasons even though it said they were open BOTH on their app and Maps. Next day I called and no one answered, plus their voicemail was full. Ok great I give up. NO but wait, I got a notification from them for the 4th talking about a deal. Ok maybe there is hope, it looks like they updated their hours on Maps too. So I give them a call because lord knows I’m not making that drive again without being sure and nope no answer. Sooo yeah safe to say this location is closed and Shipley gets 0 stars for being so unprofessional. Such a big business, it gets no excuse.
I am so disappointed at this franchise. No updates on the web and I like others have been when they were supposed to reopen. If the rumors are true that they are changing to a Dubai chocolate store, good luck.
