Ordered a custom mini heart cake for my birthday to be a specific theme. When the cake was picked up, the design that was discussed and agreed upon when the order was placed was not what was received and it looked messily thrown together. At the time, we just let it go bc it was later in the day and too late to ask for change and I just kinda felt bad and understand mistakes happen. Paid $65.00. When we cut into the cake, about 70% of the cake was icing, there was not a lot of cake, and the icing tasted like it was out of one of those spray icing cans from the grocery store. No where was this advertised and this is not the quality expected. I reached out to the bakery and was offered 30% refund or $30 off another purchase. When I responded with further issues that I had found after originally sending an email, I received no response and have sent further inquiries with still no response. It has been over 3 weeks. Would not purchase from here again.

Edit/Update: The owner reached out and made things right and I received a refund as well as a few issues with service, such as management and response times, I was told have been resolved and are being worked on. While I do appreciate being reached out to and things made right, I will remain completely transparent and leave my review as any possible outcome should be made apparent.

Ciara is the bomb

I went in Thursday about 5 or 6 in the evening and I purchased a 6 pack, they have flavors like orangecicle and lemon coconut! I was very disappointed with my purchase. The cupcakes tasted overbaked or they where from the day before. The taste and quality was not there for the price of the cupcakes.

I reached out to this bakery on Monday night to inquire about a custom cake for next Monday. They responded promptly on Tuesday, asking me to send pictures that better matched their style. I appreciated their engagement and sent additional pictures right away, but unfortunately, I haven’t received a follow-up response.

I understand that my request was short notice, and if the order wasn’t possible, I would have appreciated a quick update to let me know. Clear communication is essential in customer service, and even a simple response—whether confirming or declining the order—would have helped me plan accordingly. I hope the bakery can improve in this area to better support potential customers in the future. Their work looks beautiful too.

We absolutely LOVE Smallcakes! This location is always 10/10 across the board with service, flavor, vibes, all of it. The staff is always so kind - especially Melissa! Thankful we live so close and can come by often :)

I purchased the death by chocolate cake, the cake was over powered by sugar and I couldn’t taste the chocolate. Also, it seemed like the cashier was lost. She forgot that I ordered cake topper. She also wasn’t aware of what topper to give me even though it stated on the receipt gold acrylic birthday topper. Nothing bunt cakes is a much better choice than this place. I am severely disappointed with this place and will never come back.

6/4/25: After my son's birthday dinner nearby, I searched for a place that sells cupcakes and this is the closest place near us. So we took our son here to fulfill one of his birthday wishes. He wanted a birthday cupcake instead of a cake. The interior design is cute and clean. Cupcake flavors are just the casual common flavors. I prefer Sprinkles over this place. Cupcakes are small size too. I hope the kids will enjoy their sweet treat here.
Two cupcakes and two macarons are about $20.

Customer service was great, but the cupcakes were terrible. The icing tasted like it was from a can. Save your money and just get some grocery store cupcakes.

Best cupcakes in Orlando, according to me! Delicious cupcakes all around, cake and icing, at a reasonable price. Good selection as well. Whenever we're in the area, we stop at Smallcakes. Enjoy!

Everything here is amazing! Whenever I try something new, I am never disappointed. The cookie cake slices are my favorite, but the wedding day cupcake deserves an honorable mention. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

I’ve been going to Smallcakes every so often for a couple years now. I love the chocoholic cupcakes. I’m sad to report the last ones I got had a dying cockroach (it was on its back kicking) at the bottom of the box. It seems like maybe they fumigated recently and the roach was dying. I was absolutely grossed out and threw everything away and will not be returning, sadly 😭

We visited small cakes today and were able yo get a snickerdoodle cookie and a peanut butter cookie. They were so yummy and delicious. The cream in the snickerdoodle cookie wasn’t too sweet so it really complimented the cookie and the peanut butter cookie was so enjoyed by my husband ( he loves PB cookies.) The space was very clean and decorated well with some tables to enjoy your treats if you wished to do so. We will be going back many times and we look forward to trying many more of the goodies.

No gluten free options! But my hubby and friends enjoyed cupcake and chilies with gluten. Cafe next door has some gluten free muffins etc.

I spend the entire day watching my family eat sweets at Universal and I really wanted something gluten free. Being cursed with the ability NOT to eat good stuff really sucks sometimes. So when we got out of the park, we searched for the first gluten free bakery and small cakes appeared. We drive for 15 minutes, out of our way, to get something delicious. Only when we walked in, she said “we don’t pick any up today”. Seriously?! There isn’t much that upsets me, it I seriously had my heart set on ANYTHING I could eat gluten free and even though they advertised, they failed. So, if you are wanting something gluten free, do not waste your time coming here. Do better small cakes.
