First time customer to smoking Jay I noticed field peas on the menu. Tried it, love it, over yellow rice. Chicken so tender and flavorful I eat the bones like I used to with Grandma's fried Chicken. I was impressed and it's hard to impress me. I declare myself a repeat customer.

I'm just gonna say this... if you ever want good barbecue then this is the spot but their prices are outrageous!!! I literally JUST paid $15 for only 4 ribs and they're not even that meaty! If I would've added 2 sides, it would've been $21 dollars! I understand prices are going up but for this small portion it's not worth it!!!

My family and I were craving some good southern barbecue and had the best experience at Smokey Jay’s. The service was prompt, the prices were great and the restaurant was clean. The food was so good!! My husband and I both got some ribs with mac & cheese, yams, and greens. Everything was so tasty. The portion size was great. The barbecue sauce was sweet and tangy. It was such a great meal. We will absolutely be back again thanks for the great experience!!

Best BBQ in the area. The brisket is cut into smaller pieces and served on plain buns but really shines though. It’s smoky, tender, and well flavored. The BBQ sauces they pair with it taste like Carolina mustard BBQ sauces with the perfect amount of tanginess, spice, and sweetness. The Mac n cheese is real cheese and tastes like it’s straight from ya uncle’s cookout, no velveeta. And the collard greens are just like grandma’s. Great acidity, texture, and seasoning. Will definitely be back.

De-licios BBQ ya'll. This mom and pop restaurant is located in an inconspicuous location where you wouldn't think to look. However, don't let the shopping center fool you! Smokey Jays is well known for serving from a food truck on Sundays at the lake Eola market. This is their brick and mortar! My friend was having her car serviced at the dealership across the street. So to kill some time I picked her up to have lunch. We found this place and as I drove up and saw the sign, I was so happy! I hadn't had smokey Jay's in years! Everything on the menu is tasty and made from scratch, home cooking. Even the desserts! The red velvet was delicious. We ate brisket, pulled pork, fries, collard greens, Mac and cheese, Yams, and sweet corn. Sadly no garlic bread or corn bread was available. But hopefully they'll have some on our next visit. The cherry on top was the sweet bbq sauce! ? Hours say open until sold out. It wasn't busy when we stopped by, Saturday afternoon. If you're not in a rush and have time to kill, I highly recommend stopping in. Great excuse if you're stuck at the dealership across the road too ?. The family working here is super sweet and friendly. I felt like I was eating at a good friend's home ?

Tried this place after a hair appointment in the same plaza. It was lunch time but not too busy. The gentleman at the counter was very nice. I asked him to recommend something since it was my first time. The food looked so good, I honestly wanted to try everything, but after his suggestions, I got the brisket with collard greens and mac n’ cheese. WOW! These people know what they’re doing. Would definitely visit time and time again when I’m in the area. Just try it! You will not be disappointed. The customer service was superb and the food was fresh and delicious!
