First time trying it. Got the blackened Mahi Caesar salad, and it was as good as I’ve ever had. Very large piece of mahi that was perfectly seasoned and super fresh. Nice quaint little atmosphere. They say their house special is a fried Groupler sandwich which I’m definitely gonna have to try next time.

This addition to College Park is a treasure! The freshest seafood around at reasonable prices. Never a heavy batter, never pre-cooked. If you love seafood The Current is a must! Fantastic, helpful staff as well!

Great spot! The food was very fresh and well-prepared. Breading on fried items was light and tasty. Service was fast and super friendly! The restaurant is very clean and inviting. Parking was easy (behind the restaurant) even at 1:00 on a weekday. I'll look forward to going back!

The food is great here, however, the customer service is not. We come often due to the food but that is going to come to an end. The two ladies who work the front are very rude. Not worth the 30 minute drive we make with the attitudes.

Food is awesome, I stop in every time I'm close to this side of town. The Connecticut Lobster Roll is my go to. Although I will say I had the coleslaw for the first time this past visit and I would avoid that at all cost, it a dry coleslaw with little flavor and either broccoli or kale finely chopped (can't recall and didn't eat enough to decipher). The service is typical of this generation of customer service, they are there to ring you up and deliver food, no social niceties or checking on you. The atmosphere is what I dislike the most. I usually eat outside or get it go. It's just cold, uncomfortable and very cafeteria'ish.

Very grateful to have this no frills seafood restaurant in my neighborhood. I've been here a few times and this is my 1st review here. It's counter service but they will bring your food to your table. Excellent choice of seafood that changes based on availability.
The service is friendly & good. The restaurant has plenty of seating which is mainly high top but they also have standard tables as well. Also an outdoor patio.
There is a nice selection of tap beers with a focus on NE, I was unsure and offered a sample which was a nice touch. Tonight I treated myself to a Connecticut style Lobster Roll which I had never had before. The lobster was plentiful and delicious!
I highly recommend The Current if you are looking for a wide choice of fresh seafood.

Not really understanding all the 5 star reviews of this place. We were really hoping this would fulfill our local fish and chips cravings but it just didn't live up to the hype. The fish was mediocre at best and when it's served on top of the chips, it just makes them all soggy with the steam/heat coming from the fish. The hush puppies we were served were not even cooked all the way through. When you opened it up, raw dough was still gooey in the middle.
