Muddy Root never fails to deliver top-quality product and service. We've been coming here every time we visit Orlando, and it's now become a feature of our trips out here! Across all our visits, we've never had a negative experience - though we can clearly recall many positive ones!

Our most recent positive experience was from today. My partner ordered a drink that didn't taste the way she expected it to, and the bartender offered to replace it with a different one she knew she'd like. Top. Tier. Customer. Service.

More Than a Kava Bar—A True Sanctuary. If I Could Give 10 Stars, I Would!

Muddy Root isn’t just a place to grab a shell; it is a place that genuinely exudes love. From the moment you walk in, you realize this isn't just a business—it’s a thriving community. The drinks are absolutely out of this world (best in the city, hands down), but it’s the atmosphere that keeps you coming back.

I have to give a massive shout-out to Christian. He is everything you want in a kavatender and more. Despite being incredibly humble, he consistently goes above and beyond to ensure every single person feels welcome and taken care of. You can tell he takes personal pride in making sure Muddy Root is the best spot in town.

If you are looking for top-tier drinks and a place that feels like home, this is it.

I have so many things to say about this place, but I'll keep it short. I've found new friends, amazing vibes, and a supportive community. I can say this is my third place and safe space. The staff is so friendly and attentive, and the drinks are great. 2025 has been a pretty shitty year for me, but Muddy has made it a little bit better with every visit. I walk in and everyone is so welcoming and can strike up a random conversation with anyone. Nice to have a place that I can come in and be myself, get some work done, and just relax. 20/10 🫶

What a vibe!! Being new to the area and trying to find a new place is tough! First vibe is walking in as a new face and being treated like they have seen you every single day since they opened… I believe the managers name is Christian and he is amazing, kava is really solid and super clean!! Great place to lose a few hours without even noticing 💕

Though The Muddy Root’s menu is already hard to beat, the real magic lies in the staff here. It doesn’t matter what day you come in; you’ll always be met by someone warm, welcoming, and ready to explain anything you’d like to know about their WIDE variety of menu items. If you’re not a kava or kratom person, this cafe offers a coffee and tea menu that’s highly customizable. Whatever you’re looking for- something sweet, something strong, something refreshing- the kavatenders (their “bartenders”) will always know how to make it happen. Even when my drink doesn’t taste right the first time (which rarely happens), the staff is beyond happy to add or substitute anything so that it’s just what I want. A literal 2-minute drive from UCF (and right between two major UCF apartments), this is an amazing study spot. Plenty of outlets and a variety of seating, plus free WiFi (after ordering). Plenty of students, professionals, and hobbyists work here, so it’s a productive environment. If you’re looking for a more social atmosphere, they also host social events all throughout the month, from trivia and AYCD kava nights to karaoke and even nature hikes! If I could rate The Muddy Root on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give them an 11. A definite must-try!

This was my first experience having kratom. Jude was so nice and helpful for picking the right option for me. He also was so nice and let me add some syrup to adjust the taste after getting it. The atmosphere was also very fun but chill. We played some of the board games they had available and had a fun time.

Such a comfy spot like your friend’s living room, if your friend made amazing drinks and had top-tier hospitality. Chance the Kavatender is a total gem. You’ll want to come back before you’ve even left.

My boyfriend Dennis and I visited Muddy Root Kava Bar while in the area! We were visiting from Brevard County (about an hour away), and we had a fantastic experience! The bar was super clean, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Christian, our kavatender, was absolutely amazing—so sweet, kind, and attentive. He made us feel right at home and added to the great vibes of the place. We will definitely be back again! Highly recommend checking this spot out if you’re in the area!
