Stayed with some friends for a quick two-night stay - we've always wanted to try Old Key West and it's a cute resort. The villas are some of the largest on Disney property since this was the original vacation club resort - the four of us had plenty of room and a large balcony overlooking the golf course. It was a fairly stormy weekend so we didn't visit the pools but Olivia's offers tasty food and The Gurgling Suitcase is a must stop for an afternoon beverage. Due to earlier drought conditions the boats between OKW, SSR, and Disney Springs weren't running, but we were able to use the buses to get to where we needed to be. Overall it's a charming resort in a good location - the only issues we encountered were the usual ones related to ongoing staffing shortages.

We stayed at Disney Old Key West Resort for a week. The resort is very large but beautiful. We were really lucky to get rooms close to the lobby house so everything was within walking distance. Food, buses, pools. One of our rooms was ready early , we were so thankful for that. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were all polite and helpful. The pool was great. My daughter enjoyed the water slide. Fantastic resort. Each complex had an elevator in case people need it. We took the stairs. I wish each complex had an ice machine. It was not convenient to have to walk to the pool area for ice. Would recommend and would stay again. Being close to the lobby house was the key for us. Fantastic resort.

The accommodation was very spacious and full of comforts. We loved resting in the jacuzzi after a busy day at Disney world. It was also very clean and the kitchen was fully equipped, so that we could cook some meals at home. The staff was friendly and responded immediately to any of our requests. The surroundings were peaceful and relaxing, in fact our villa overlooked a golf course. The reception amenities and the pool were at only five minute walk. The pool was great for the kids to get a day rest between exploring all the parks, they also had organised activities for them and a large game/activity room.

Stayed at OKW for 10 days on a family trip. As DVC members, we like to try different resorts each time we visit. We were lucky to be placed in Building 62 which is across from Hospitality House and is an elevator building. The villas here are stated to be the largest on Disney property and they do not disappoint. Our two-bedroom villa provided plenty of room for the four of us to be together or apart as needed. The common areas and bedrooms were very spacious, with plenty of storage for everything. Having four bathroom vanities was a bonus--no one had to share! This property was refurbished recently, and while it is nicely decorated, I feel that more could be done to emphasize the Key West theme. Housekeeping was great, towels and trash were constantly checked, and the room attendants were very friendly and helpful. Any request we placed was quickly handled. All of our encounters with staff on property were positive! The property itself is beautiful with a great tropical feel. It had a very relaxed vibe which we loved. Our view was spectacular and although it was really too hot to sit outside while we visited, we would have enjoyed sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine and enjoying the scenery. Although we were close to the main road going through the resort, we never had an issue with noise. We even had a partial view of EPCOT fireworks! We only had time to visit the pool once but it is nice although it does not have some of the more attention-grabbing features that other resort pool areas have. We ate at both Olivia's and Goods to Go while there and visited the gift shop as well. Having the option to take a boat to Disney Springs was great (weather permitting) and we used it several times to hop over there for shopping or food. Although we enjoyed our stay, there were a few drawbacks (which should not necessarily discourage anyone as long as you are aware of them and they won't bother you on your trip). #1: Since the property is so large, be prepared to spend a good amount of time riding the bus. Since our building was close to Hospitality House, that is the bus stop we used. For every park bus, it is the last stop for pickup and drop off. So that means on busy days, you will most likely be standing on the bus on your way to the parks. It was not a big deal for us as we were all adults, but if you are traveling with young children or anyone who needs assistance, that could be an issue. It also means that at the end of the day, you are the last to be dropped off. When you are hot and tired, or have to stand for the whole ride, it can wear on you and your group. Consider that fact when you are requesting a room. #2: Food options are limited which could be an issue with picky eaters. All of the food we had at both Olivia's and Goods to Go was delicious and we had no complaints (the mahi special was outstanding!). However, for such a large resort, it seems that there should be another food option available. This lack of choices may be due to the fact that this was the first DVC resort, and what they have was adequate at the time, but I feel another choice would definitely help in attracting more guests to this property. On top of that, the menus at both locations were very limited, so picky eaters may be challenged to find something they like. Since it is not easy to resort hop to eat, this could be an issue on non-park days, unless you are willing to head to Disney Springs. All in all, this is a beautiful resort and as long as you keep the above in mind, you can have a wonderful stay. It is quiet and relaxing and centrally located. We did not feel that any of the travel times to the parks was excessive. You will definitely have enough space no matter which room type you choose, and you will encounter friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Everything was absolutely perfect. A huge room, full kitchen, washer/dryer and all the Disney magic we could ever want. All amenities were available and we had everything we needed and more. The huge jet tub was an amazing plus.

Disney always make you feel like a special guest. This unit is very large and very close to Disney Springs (Down town Disney). If you are looking to stay on a Disney property and need that extra space this is a perfect place to stay.

The patio and view from our 2 bedroom villa was nice. The villa is also very spacious with ample kitchen that was stocked. I also appreciate the daily maid service and the busses were always very quick. Staff was friendly and accommodating. What I didn’t like: Sofas in the living need to be replaced- the fabric is like sitting on a lawn chair. The main pool is small and they won’t let you even have water in it (much less a beer after being at Disney for hours - you have to have all drinks 6’ from pool). There are very few dining options at the resort - as in two options. The little cafe that is always open doesn’t have much to choose from and you will need a reservation to Olivia’s. I couldn’t even order to go from Olivia’s so we ended up door dashing. The people above us are loud so beware that you may be annoyed by your neighbors. All in all it was an enjoyable time, but the lack of food was an issue and we would look for other locations with more choices.

Since 2011 we have travelled from Canada for wonderful Disney vacations for a 1st anniversary, and a 75th, 80th and just recently an 85th birthday trip to Disney World. We have stayed at Disney's Beach Club, Saratoga Springs, Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House), the Grand Floridian and for this trip we decided on a 11th day trip to Old Key West. This resort is an UNDERRATED GEM. Beautifully landscaped, it feels like a place to relax from a day at the parks. This was for my mom's 85th- we originally booked 10 nights but our airline changed our flights at the last minute (does this sound familiar to anyone??). I was able to add a night one day earlier. Joshua at concierge put us in bld 42 on the main floor the 1st night but made an effort to make my mom's needs met on the 2nd floor at building 64 (one of the buildings that have elevators for the rest of the 10 days. This was very important as my mom used a scooter and preferred a balcony to sit in the morning with her coffee- we really appreciated that. Joshua is just one example of the the OKW employee service- Chris and Sharon welcomed us as we arrived from a harrowing arrival as well. Bell services helped us with both reservations with a smile- Orlando showed us our new room later and Sam even fixed the height of my Mom's steering wheel on her scooter! The pool was great- I noticed that while I swam for an hour- the lifeguards (there were usually 4) would always check for garbage etc every 30 min- an attention to detail. The pool was a perfect temperature. We had 3 of our meals at Olivia's- every meal was cooked to perfection including the West Indian Curry dish (you can substitute the tofu for chicken), the fritters and the prime rib that we had the first night (it was as good as some of the expensive restaurants we experienced. Olivia's Cafe to go was wonderul for Mom when she had to rest a day from the parks and I went solo. Thanks especially to Tess, Jupiter, Ally-Grace, and Kimbereley. This resort is large and there are about 48 buildings- housekeeping services the guests very well and special kudos to the maintenance staff who keep the grounds impeccable. Other reviews have mentioned that this resort uses bus service to the parks and both the bus and the ferry services to Disney Springs and that "IT"S TOO SLOW". As mentioned earlier we have stayed at resorts that are within walking distance and had monorail service- we felt that the bus service was fast and efficient and we timed everything- it took exactly between 7 to a maximum of 15 min to the parks- so for those who are worried about this- DON'T WORRY. In conclusion- the staff and the ambiance makes this resort unique- along with the largest rooms on property- it's a great fit. People that work here are genuine and make every guest feel at home.

I've stayed at many Disney resorts, but this was my first DVC stay. The resort is really beautiful, even if the check in area isn't as grand as other Disney Deluxe resorts. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We made 2 room requests and both of them were granted. We were in an elevator building on the top floor (I think there are only 3 elevator buildings on property), very close to the Hospitality House. We were able to walk to the boats despite my fiancé's handicap, which was really nice! This resort's rooms have been recently renovated, and it shows. We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa. Everything is very updated, beautiful and airy! The colors of the décor really gives it a Key West feel! And, the rooms are very large. Boat transportation was great. Never needed to wait long for a boat, and the ride was very pleasant. The captains were always friendly, and sometimes, entertaining. We ate at Olivia's a couple of times and enjoyed both times very much. Just remember they have "brunch", not breakfast, so items that are offered are not all breakfasty. .... and of course you need to try the Buttermilk Chicken. Did I need to say that? Prices were pretty average for Disney. We had a wonderful time that would have been perfect if it weren't for inconsiderate guests who were smoking on their balconies. Many times when trying to relax on the balcony after a long day (or sometimes before the start of our long day) it wouldn't be very long before we would smell a lot of cigarette smoke. We did mention it to the front desk and they said that housekeeping checks for smokers and if they suspect someone has been smoking then they're charged a large fee on departure. However, that didn't help us at the time. So that was very disappointing. I think Disney needs a better way to address smokers during the time they're there... not after they've left. Overall it was a great stay. We plan on going again. We just hope next time no one will be smoking on their balcony and we get to enjoy ours.

Ok, so first I should say that we are DVC members for the past 20 years, and have stayed at OKW at least 10 times. This is a great resort that we have always enjoyed. Frankly, within WDW/ DVC offerings, the points vs. square foot ratio is the best at this resort. This is a very large resort that has four pools, numerous buildings, and many bus stops. . The kids will enjoy the huge main pool up by check-in, more than the calmer satellite pools. This resort is always spotless and clean. Olivia's Restaurant is not the star of the WDW dining offerings. The menu is limited, overpriced, and kinda boring. The pool bars are just OK. We make good use of our kitchens when we are staying at this resort. NOTE: 1) They have removed the make-up mirrors. I loved those. 2) ALWAYS run an empty load in the clothes washer before putting your own clothes in it. I have ruined some nice clothes in the washer during this most recent trip. People apparently wash some really filthy clothing while here. This was not Disney's fault. 3) There were three golf ball holes in the siding in the building next to us. There must be terrible golfers at WDW. 4) Even if you put the "OCCUPIED" sign on the door, the Disney staff will enter your room every day, no matter what. I feel violated every time they do this. This will happen at any Disney resort and not just OKW, but it still bears mentioning.

We received a free upgrade to a one room suite here (we’d booked at another hotel). It was fun to visit once but we would not have been happy if we’d paid full price to stay here. Checkin had a long line and was rushed as a result- we were given a map and a key and no other info. The suite is large, and generally well-equipped. It needed updating though- some stains, visibly old items, etc including hard to use blinds. There is no netting or screen if any sort on the balcony so we did not use it much due to the bugs. The jetted tub shot green goo out of the jets (picture of the residue left behind) and the shower was dirty when we arrived. There was no parking at our building the 2 nights we were there and we had to park a couple buildings away each time. Food was okay from both onsite locations. The pool is nice, and the hammocks and games and such are a nice touch. It is a large property and it takes a long time to walk or bus anywhere. The easy boat access was our favorite part.

I would not stay at this resort again. My husband and I went away for our anniversary. By far our least favorite Disney resort. It is clean but lacks any appeal. I was excited to stay there because of the great reviews I read but very underwhelmed. I would spend money elsewhere. All the studio rooms are conjoined. You can hear everything! I tried to be optimistic but our flight got in late and we didn’t arrive to our room till 0230. 0700 we could hear everything till 0930. Needless to say our first day was a wash because we were like zombies. I did mention this to the front desk in hopes we could be moved but stated all rooms were conjoined and could not move us. I wasn’t mad but figured I ask because I wanted some good uninterrupted sleep since this was a kid free trip. At least the last couple of days it was a little better but we made due and tried to muffle out the sound. I felt like at other value resorts- I rested better and could hear WAY less. For what we spent it was not what we expected. Disappointed that we did not enjoy this resort like we thought. We thought there would be so much amenities but you will find yourself hiking to bus stations for ice or having to wait outside for a quick service meal. I was surprised there was no small dining service inside besides the main restaurant. However, the bartender at the Gurgling Suitcase was great. This trip was not “magical” like last trip. Maybe next time… but not here.

Wonderful stay, great pools & hot tubs. Employees helpful. Room sparkling clean. Breakfast to go tasty, grits yummy. Enjoyed pickleball. The boat to Disney Spring very handy. Bus stops throughout the complex have up to date time, appreciate this feature.
