Twisty Treat at Whisper Lakes has been one of my favorite local spots for over 16 years, and it’s truly a fabulous place. The ice cream is consistently excellent, and my go-to orders are the twist with pistachio and the vanilla banana sundae with fresh bananas and walnuts — always smooth, flavorful, and perfectly made. What really sets this location apart is the quality and variety of their toppings. They use real ingredients, not just sugar-based extras. Fresh bananas, actual peanuts, walnuts, and a nice selection of different nuts that taste fresh and high-quality. It makes a noticeable difference and shows real care in what they serve. Beyond the ice cream, there’s something special about how this place operates. It’s clear the team takes pride in their work. Even during busy times, everything runs smoothly, orders are handled with attention, and customers are treated with kindness. That consistency over so many years is not easy to maintain, and it speaks volumes about the people behind the counter. This is the definition of a great neighborhood ice cream spot — reliable, welcoming, and consistently delicious. My husband and I had a very disappointing experience at this ice cream shop during our first visit.
From the moment we walked in, the staff appeared unprofessional. There was a strong smell of marijuana, and I observed one employee handle food without washing her hands, which was very concerning.
The biggest issue, however, was our order and how we were treated. I ordered a banana split and was very specific: 2 scoops vanilla, 1 scoop strawberry, whipped cream, pecans only, and no cherries. I repeated my order three separate times because each time the employee repeated it back incorrectly. I corrected her every time.
While we were still ordering and before we had paid, they went ahead and made the banana split anyway and it was wrong. When I pointed this out, I was told, “It’s too late.” This made no sense, as we hadn’t even finished ordering or paid yet. I paid, waited again, and when I received the banana split, it was still wrong. When we calmly approached the counter to explain the issue again, the staff became rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. They insisted it was “too late to change it” and said, “This is how we do things here.”
At one point, we were asked, “Where are y’all from? Have y’all been here before?” When we said no and explained we were from out of town, the attitude worsened. We were told we didn’t order it “the right way” and were instructed to “order it right next time,” which was extremely disrespectful considering how many times we clearly explained the order.
When we asked for a manager, they refused. When we asked for names, they refused again. We were then told to “leave” and that they were not remaking the order. Eventually, they said they would refund the banana split and again told us to leave.
I asked how the refund would be processed since they never took my card. I was told they didn’t need it. I requested a receipt for the refund, which they printed. When I got home, I realized it was not a refund receipt at all, just a copy of what I paid. No refund was issued.
Overall, the experience was hostile, unprofessional, and felt discriminatory. All we wanted was the order made correctly after clearly repeating it multiple times. Instead, we were treated rudely, dismissed, and lied to.
I am requesting a call from management or corporate regarding this incident. This establishment appears to be violating basic customer service standards and potentially health and safety codes. I would appreciate someone reaching out to address these concerns.
I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting basic customer service, professionalism, or respect.

First I ask for my kid a Kids Cup sundae and they just put whip cream, when I ask for the cherry, he told me I dont charge you for the cherry. Later I went to ask for napkins and they told me, I give you enough? They just give me 3 napkins. They repeat, if you need napkins go to the bathroom and take toilet paper or wash your hands there.
So Bad Customer Service, Bas experience... Not visit this place.
