We found several pieces of sharp metal in our food from the taco bar. The staff was very rude when they were informed. No effort was made to remove the contaminated items from the bar or to determine where the metal was coming from which is very irresponsible. There were people with small children eating from the taco bar. Terrible experience, and what made it terrible was not exactly finding metal in the food but the terrible treatment that we received from the staff after we made them aware of the situation.

On November 10, 2025, at approximately 4:15 PM, several small metal fragments—appearing to be from a can—were found in a meal from the taco bar (vegetarian meat, rice, cheese, guacamole) at the hospital cafeteria. I immediately informed the cashier and showed her the metal pieces. She took the container and threw away the food, then told me to simply go make another plate—which was concerning given that the source of the contamination had not been identified.
At that point, the staff should have temporarily closed the taco bar, replaced the food, and conducted a thorough inspection of the kitchen and preparation areas to determine how and why metal ended up in the food. None of that happened. The taco bar remained open, and no one informed other diners or halted service.
I stayed for several minutes expecting to see some response, but no safety action was taken. On my way out I alerted another employee working the pizza station about the incident and urged that the food be removed, as I saw families with small children eating from the same taco bar.
While the cafeteria is convenient, the lack of any proper food-safety protocol following a contamination incident is alarming. I strongly caution others to consider this serious safety lapse before dining here.

The pasta is wonderful. The alfredo is great the meatballs etc. Stay away from the burgers. They are soaked in some kinda water and are nasty. The collard greens are horrible. Fried food is fried food. The sushi wasn't so fresh, I was there 4 days so had plenty. Breakfast is so so, but stay away from the burgers, trust me. Staff super friendly and helpful very clean place. Chic filet is closet bye its cheaper to eat out then to eat there.

Jalyn was wonderful. She went above and beyond we wanted a chocolate chip cookie. She found it for us. It was all we wanted and she made it happen. She was very nice. The food is good too.

The guy working the grill 5/27/25 at 2:10pm was very rude to my wife. That is the last thing I need when getting treatment here at Advent Hospital. The food is just OK, but NOT worth a crappy attitude.
