Airports rarely promise memorable meals. More often, they offer utility—something to keep you moving, never the reason you are there. Zaza Cuban Café fits squarely within that expectation, providing sustenance rather than inspiration.
The setting is predictably hectic, and on our visit the staff were clearly working hard against the constant flow of travelers. Still, engagement was minimal, and refills were scarce—not for lack of effort, but because the volume simply overwhelmed the room.
I ordered the Cubano, a sandwich that should deliver punch through roast pork, ham, mustard, and pressed bread. Here, it arrived plain and unremarkable, more functional than enticing. It was not unpleasant, but it was flat—serviceable fuel rather than something to savor. Presentation was secondary to speed, and it showed.
Nothing about the experience suggested lingering. Zaza does its job: it feeds you before your flight. But it does little to rise above the baseline of airport dining, where expectations are already modest.
Should the United Lounge be closed again in the future, I might return out of necessity. It would not be with anticipation.
My rating: ★★☆☆☆
1 star — I will never return.
2 stars — If nearby, I might return, but without urgency.
3 stars — Worth a visit if in the area, though not a destination in itself.
4 stars — Worth going out of your way to enjoy.
5 stars — I would fly around the world for this meal.

They force you to tip. There’s a no tip option on the screen but it doesn’t work. If you want your coffee and food, you have to leave them a tip. Why don’t they just advertise a mandatory gratuity at that point?
Ridiculous

Your staff at the airport location (gates 40-46?) is amazing the hostess greeted me with a big smile, Rachel was really helpful and knowledgeable about the menu (she is FANTASTIC) and the gentleman that brought my sandwich to my table truly wowed me…..as a manager myself I always look for people like them….you better treat them well or I’ll steal them from you.

I had a Cuban, my daughter had a croissant with ham sandwich. The service was excellent, the food was 👍. It was so good we got 2 extras to go for my family at home. For sure, I will go back next time I'm flying out of MCO.
