Had a great time at the course today. course is in excellent shape. great challenge greens are excellent with tons of couture. just maybe bring some bug spray for the mosquitoes.

I have lived in the area for 30 plus years. Always enjoyed the experience of the golf course. Played on Friday with my two sons and were disappointed of the conditions of the course. A lot of uncut grass with weeds in the fairways and a few chewed up tee boxes. My eldest son mentioned that it was not as pristine than in the past. The first and eighteenth were in their normal good conditions

Golf greens are best in the area. The course is good shape and the staff is very friendly and welcoming! Maintenance crew is always working to improve the quality of the course!

Chef's seafood special on Friday night was excellent. Fresh catch cod was cooked just right.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR VEGETARIANS

We have been here several times; I am the only vegetarian in my family. Food is good, and the carnivores have been happy with their meals. If you are vegetarian, there aren't any options except for one vegetarian salad (or have the meat removed from a salad). If you are vegan, forget it. In the past at different times they have offered flat breads and pizza, but not now. Stick with lunch; the dinner menu really doesn't offer any options for vegetarians.

Definitely check the website and/or call before going; the dining room and dinner menus are not available on Mondays and Sundays. Service has been mixed the last few years—often very slow and sometimes understaffed.

One thing that has been good in the past is that it has been a fairly quiet place to eat. No flat screens, no radio. Hard to find a quiet place these days where you can talk (not shout) over dinner.

The Tavern has a nice setting, pretty surroundings. Could do with some updated décor but generally a nice atmosphere without being pretentious.

Thanksgiving buffet at Halifax Plantation yesterday was fantastic. Even though there was a miscommunication regarding our numbers, Joe(manager) took care of things and Kat our server was fabulous. Tom the chef certainly outdid himself with the preparation and presentation. Best meal we've ever had. Kudos to all.

The course is in great shape.

I live in Halifax Plantation and have lived there for over 15 years. The food is good, not great, unless you go on a special menu night such as prime rib night when food is very good. The staff are always friendly and provide good service but while it has a country club look it doesn't seem to live up to such a standard when, with some imagination and minor improvements, it could do so easily. We used to dine there every week but now only occasionally.

Love the food, love the service. But we were there with someone singer with an instrument it was too loud.
