Great food, drinks, staff and atmosphere!!

Sat at the bar on a slow weeknight to enjoy some sports TV along with a couple of sushi rolls. Service was attentive. Sushi plating and presentation were first-rate. Ormond Beach roll was particularly delicious... likely the best roll I've ever had.

I tried sushi for the first time!! It was great, but I really loved the hibachi! I had ribeye steak and scallops. It was amazing! Others had the filet mignon and said it was really tender. They all came with a couple of shrimp, noodles and rice. More food than we could eat!!

One of the best, a must try

Koji Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar provides an enjoyable dining experience that brings together the flavors of Japan with a lively, welcoming atmosphere. The interior has a warm, contemporary design with elegant touches, creating a relaxed and inviting setting for a meal. With traditional Japanese elements mixed with modern décor, the ambiance immediately draws you in and sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.

The staff at Koji is incredibly friendly, adding to the positive atmosphere of the restaurant. One of the highlights is watching the chef prepare the food right in front of you, adding an element of fun and excitement to the meal. The chef was entertaining and engaging, skillfully handling ingredients and interacting with guests, making the dining experience interactive and enjoyable.

We ordered the RibEye Teppanyaki, which was fantastic. The meat was cooked to perfection—tender and bursting with flavor. The portions were generous, and we had enough food left for lunch the next day. The meal also included a salad and soup, which was a nice addition, giving a fuller dining experience.

While Koji offers a great experience, there are a few areas for improvement. The salad came with only one dressing option, which seemed limiting. Offering a variety of dressings, perhaps a Japanese soy-based dressing alongside the existing one, would enhance the dining experience. Another surprise was the shrimp served alongside the ribeye. Even though I had ordered a non-seafood dish due to a severe seafood allergy, shrimp was initially included, and I had to request its removal. This could be an issue for other guests with allergies, especially as shrimp also comes with vegetarian orders. It would be better if seafood were only added upon request.

Additionally, I ordered iced tea but wasn’t asked if I preferred it sweetened or unsweetened, and it came pre-sweetened. Asking guests their preference would be a thoughtful touch, as some might prefer it plain.

Overall, Koji Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is a delightful dining spot with excellent food, friendly staff, and a lively atmosphere. With just a few adjustments, it could offer an even better experience for all guests.

A friend and I chose Koji with no expectations, but to have a nice dinner. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with a smile and a warm hospitable attitude by the host. We were sat at the hibachi table and the waiter was so friendly, so accommodating, so in tune with every aspect of our dinner experience, and being in the service industry for 40 years, this is so rare to see these days. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was amazing, and the price was not super expensive. In fact, it was absolutely perfect for what we got. The portions were huge, I took almost a full dinner home with my hibachi meal because I couldn’t eat it all. They heard that it was my birthday and they brought out a piece of cheesecake for me completely unexpected when I was getting up to leave after we paid. I am so blown away with this experience. I cannot wait to come back the next time I visit my friend. We both determined that this is our go-to place now. Great job Koji! Don’t do anything differently!

Food quality is hands down the best! Service is outstanding (we love T bone, Lee and Michelle). Everyone makes you feel so welcome. The atmosphere is great for family dinner or date night! Kid friendly with bobo fried ice cream for the win! If I could give them 10 ⭐️s I would! Check it out!!

Sushi tasted weird, first time my husband hasn’t finished a roll…feel sick tonight…it seemed like an employee hang out on the bar side not a high end restaurant.
