We came with 7 people for a special birthday dinner. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. When our 'chef' came to our table, my husband tried to start conversation with him. He did not smile or talk to us throughout the ENTIRE dinner. All of the steak orders were WAY overcooked. When the bill came, it was an automatic 18% gratuity. I spoke to the manager DANIELLE, who was rude and asked why I didn't say anything during the meal. I told her I did tell a person about the food and clearly No One at our table was having a good time. She REFUSED to take the tip off. I told DANIELLE that I would refuse to pay it as our service was so poor. She then told me my son's birthday dinner could no longer be free and she REFUSED to follow the policy that states a free dinner with parties of 6 or more.Times are tough out there, we spent $300 on chicken and rice. We thought we were paying for the experience....NOPE!!!DANIELLE NEEDS TO GO!

Eating at the restaurant is good and what you would expect.Take out is bad here. They can’t seem to get the order right and there is always a problem with the bill. Sometimes over charged.I like to eat here, but I get take out some where else.

Just ordered a togo order and they completely messed it up. Not to mention when they were taking the order they said it comes with this and that but never received any of it. We called and asked to speak to a manager and someone named Ava got on the line and was completely rude and of no help at all. I have been going to Takeyas for 10+ years and even celebrating birthdays here and this one experience has completely changed my mind about the place and quality. A togo order should be treated just like a dine in with service and quality as I am still paying same price. I will be taking my business to Wild Ginger where the service and food are both on point.

Here we found Over-priced meals that have plus and minus factors. Plus side- sauces are tasty, Seafood and vegetables are cooked well. Minus- the sushi rice is wanting flavor, therefore sushi lacks dimension. Yet wait staff are kind and attentive, and that always makes a difference. It's ridiculous to be charged extra for Miso soup on an entree that includes soup and salad; charges for the watery green tea too doesn't speak of hospitality . However, as it was our first Japanese dinner since moving to Ormond Beach, we are glad the fish was fresh.

.As loyal customers for the past 10 years, we were excited to celebrate my daughter's 15th birthday at the restaurant. We were aware of their birthday policy, which allows the birthday person to receive their meal for free with a party of 6 or more. Typically, we have a minimum of 6-8 people for dinner at this restaurant, so we have never had an issue with the birthday dinner being comped. However, on the night of my daughter's birthday, we encountered a problem with the proof of her birthdate. I presented a scanned colored copy of her Birth Certificate, but the manager refused to accept it, claiming it was a photocopy. I tried to explain that it was a scanned original, but she dismissed me and insisted on an original hard copy for my daughter's meal to be comped. It was frustrating because we have been regular customers and have never had any issues in the past. The manager's reaction was disappointing - she threw her hands up and walked away without attempting to listen or find a solution. Unfortunately, the restaurant did not honor their birthday policy, even though we had the necessary proof. If the management had been more understanding and rational in handling this situation, I would not have felt the need to write this review. It's unfortunate that one of our favorite meal spots has let us down with their poor customer service. As a result, we will not be returning to the restaurant and will make sure to advise others about this disappointing experience.

Food was over cooked, even the rice. Mushrooms were by far the best part of my meal but we're just an ingredient for what I ate. Waiter was not very friendly for a 400+ dollar ticket.

Decided to go for Dinner tonight, after sitting at the bar waiting 10-15mins on the owner to finish up on his laptop because he was the Bartender for tonight. Which was ok, however a server comes to assist us with our drink order, took the order, only gave us a portion of it. Which he seemed a bit aggravated as we asked him a few questions about some of the drinks. Then when asked for the rest of the order he walked off and went to the Hibachi Floor and left us sitting there like what the Hell? The owner is still sitting there a few seats down. I then get up to ask for the remaining of the cocktails. After about 5 mins he gets up goes behind the bar to complete the order. No enthusiasm at all or excitement. After removing 10 dirty glasses touching the rims, he proceeds to fix my Bahama Mama without washing his hands AT ALL!With all the illness we have been experiencing in todays time. How can you NOT WASH your hands after touching dirty dishes. That was the final straw. My husband requested the check and left. Him being the owner you would have thought he would’ve tried to make a bad experience good but it showed he completely cared less.My Bestfriend had booked her Birthday Dinner here, And NOW ITS A NO FOR ME! This establishment cares nothing for their customers or their experience.
