the River House

Terribly poor experience at River House last night, we have been eating here for 30+ years, through probably 3 different ownership groups. Had to wait 30+ minutes beyond our reservation for our table to be ready, the 3 high school girls at the front desk were clueless, others came in after us and were seated before us. Didn't even clear th extra place setting at our table, we were 5 and the table was set for 6. This is fine dining? Had to ask for bread, which came finally after the entrees were served. Ordered our food and when it finally came, one of the entrees was wrong and had to be remade. Much of the food was cold and 2 people said it was over salted. For $300 for 5 people, we can do far better elsewhere. What a shame, won't be going back anytime soon. Been a patron of this place for 30+ years, from back in the days of them having a huge salad bar and a much bigger menu. So disappointed. Dozens of better waterfront dining options nearby.....

If you want prime rib in Palm Beach Gardens then Riverhouse is the place to go - mic drop. The waterfront ambiance is great and the servers are always on top of their game.

We had reservations at 745 PM.
We arrived on time. We told them first available.
We were waiting and saw multiple families come after and were seated right away. We were not seated until 815 PM. We were the only ones waiting for a table. What's the point of a reservation ?
Why did other families get seated right away.

Wonderful brunch experience! My favorite item was the deviled eggs and bacon! The bacon is the best ever! Eddie was an exceptional waiter and was attentive, knowledgable, and courteous. I will definitely return!

Our lunch service today was awful. The waitress was not attentive. We continuously had to seek her for something. I ordered a Greek salad with chicken. The salad was measly when it arrived and drenched in dressing (extremely salty). I had to send it back and ask for no dressing. By the time my food came, I needed to take it to go. I just got home to finally eat my lunch and the container is about 1/3 full of salad. I will never pay nearly $30 ever again for lunch at River House. Not worth it one bit!

Three of us were seated pretty quick. After sitting and waiting to be greeted by a server I got up and told the hostess we have been waiting and have had no service . Four or five more minutes went by and a server showed up tookour drink order then a few more minutes passed and the manager came to the table. The female manager was uncaring and unsypathetic gave an apology. Weak at best. By the time the drinks arrived we had been seated 20 plus minutes. We orderd and two of us had soup. All three had no napkins . Had to flag another server to get napkins. Salmon was over cooked steak was under cooked. We odered prime rib to go . Server brought a Palm beach salad. We eventually got the prime rib. Overall a terrible dining experience. Do not waste your time or money at this place.

Service was great and the server was friendly. Unfortunately, a few things made the experience fall short. Our table was tilted, I had to hold my glass the whole time so it wouldn’t fall, the food came out salty and cold, and they had run out of champagne flutes, so the champagne was served in a wine glass. :( Overall, it wasn’t the relaxing Sunday Birthday lunch we hoped for.

I’m leaving this review to warn other delivery drivers and customers about the shocking experience I had. When I arrived at the River House to make an early morning Instacart delivery, the entire place looked closed and deserted. No signage, no instructions, just a locked building and a completely empty parking lot at 8:30 AM.

When I called the establishment for help, the person who answered that was a chef that looked Asian decent and name started with a J had a downright nasty attitude. Instead of offering any guidance, he acted like I should have magically known to go around the back of the building (which was never stated anywhere). I calmly suggested they update their delivery instructions to avoid confusion for other drivers. Instead of listening, he got rude, dismissive, and even threatened to cancel the order and take the items back just because I dared to ask for clarification.

This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. Treating a delivery driver (or any customer) with such disrespect is beyond unprofessional. If you can’t provide basic courtesy and clear instructions, you shouldn’t be surprised when you get a review like this. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because no one deserves to be treated this way.

I ate there for Thanksgiving. It was absolutely awful and the experience was very disappointing. My meal was ice cold, half cooked, and it was worse than being served cafeteria food. The service was
lousy too.
I have eaten there in the past and found it to be mediocre. I ordered the filet on two occasions and it arrived overcooked both times. I sent it back and it came back again too well done. I just dealt with it.
My friends have also vowed to scratch this restaurant off their list.
I would recommend going here for drinks but not food. The view is the best part of being there.
This is not the Riverhouse that was great many years ago.

Absolutely Love The river house , love the atmosphere & the food and drinks. I’ve been a total of 3 times, one time I went and one of the guest there decided to sing while sitting at the bar, it was a great experience.
