I’ve been coming to Sara’s Restaurant on/ off for years. (it’s only one plane ✈️ trip away) So whenever I get the slightest opportunity I’m sure to stop by. Sara’s is scrumptious with every visit and I almost always get the chorizo skillet! ? (yyyyyuuuummmy) When I’m here I act so giddy - maybe because I know I’m about to get a delicious breakfast!! Highly recommend anyone looking for great food and a fun surrounding to drop in. ?

I’ve been going here for the last few years, but today took the cake. I ordered the soup and half a sandwich for my lunch and my wife ordered avocado toast with eggs. I asked if they could add a slice of onion to my chicken salad sandwich and the waitress said sure no problem. When I got the bill, they added $1.25 for one slice of red onion on my half sandwich I could not believe what I was seeing, and never was told that there was a charge for the onion that I requested. I could buy a whole onion for $1.25. But that’s not the point first of all you should be told if there’s charges for things and second of all for customer service since when you add $1.25 for slice of onion on a half a sandwich I just noticed another Review from yesterday that is complaining about adding cream cheese dollars and someone and so forth I don’t know what’s going on here with this owner, but I’m sure there’s not gonna be a response. Beware these extra charges there are plenty of breakfast places around that don’t charge you for a small things like onion
Thank you to the owner for this response below. It is greatly appreciated.

AVOID-
I came with a friend yesterday for Sunday morning brunch for the first time here. I ordered an Omelette and he had scrambled eggs. Both of our eggs were overcooked. I didn't want the hashbrown's that came with the $15 omelette so I had to pay an extra $2.49 for fries. I have never been to a breakfast place where fries are not included. I then asked if $2.49 was the price of a side of fries and the waitress said no and said thats just the upcharge because a side of fries cost $6. $6? I don't think I could find a restaurant in Palm Beach charging $6 for a side of fries even if I tried. Better yet, the cost of fries is more than orange juice! Orange juice is only $4 here but speaking of OJ, my friend ordered a large and the waitress came back with a kids-sized cup that you could finish in 3 sips. Now the price of the OJ compared to the amount is reasonable, however, if someone orders a large there should be an option for a larger glass, not the largest size being a kids-sized glass.
Additionally, we came to realize after receiving the check that we were charged $3 for cream cheese. In my 22 years of living and in my friend's 44, we have never seen, heard of, or been charged for cream cheese as that's automatic to be included with a bagel just like syrup with pancakes which I wouldn't be surprised if this restaurant also charges for. I brought up the charge to the waitress and explained to her since that its unheard of to be charged for creamcheese, we should have been told before getting charged just incase we would have gotten butter instead. She insinuated that there are other places that also charge for cream-cheese which is very hard to believe, and that it should have been known. She then offered to bring the manager over only AFTER she charged both of our cards.
If we had decent scenery and excellent service to make up for the charges then that's one thing; I know restaurants in nice areas such as downtown or on the beach have higher prices than normal but we were also sitting in a poor spot staring at a fire hydrant.
EDIT: I forgot to add to my review the quality of the bagels. They tasted like they were bought from Walmart; the quality was very poor. I asked for the bagel to not be toasted and it was toasted anyway because the waitress said it was cold from being in the fridge. If that's the case it could be microwaved for a few seconds, either way, definitely a must to change the bagels here.
I didn't just "take off", I told the waitress there was no need for someone to come speak with me as I didn't want to cause a scene with other people nearby hearing me complain, but also because the complaint should come before charging our cards. I also can confirm that indeed I spoke with you over the phone however I asked for your email address as I was driving and would also rather have more time to remember everything I needed to say; not that you asked if I had an issue anyway. I didn't make a complaint to staff about how the food was cooked as I did not get the chance and didn't want to wait around forever as I was starving. You are also making it seem like the quality of your fries is amazing which I can assure you they are bought frozen from Walmart. I go to Einstein bagels a lot, you are given the price of a bagel with cream cheese, there is no combo like at a breakfast place such as yours. No real breakfast/cafe restaurant charges extra for cream cheese. I normally would have been surprised at your response but after seeing the way you respond to other customers it makes sense as you look at our reviews as hate and derogatory whereas its helpful feedback and suggestions to help you guys improve. If I was not deeply disappointed in my experience here yesterday I wouldn't have spent my time writing this review as I have better things to do on a Monday Morning.
We were seated outside on a busy Saturday morning. Had to ask for a server after 10 minutes. Nova Benedict, 3 sides, 2 teas. Poached eggs were fully cooked. I realized server never asked how I wanted them. Server came back halfway through meal. Didn’t notice I’d pushed overdone eggs aside. Or that I only ate 20% of my meal when bringing check and did not want to take it home. $40. Went home and made myself breakfast. Won’t go back.

been here a few times for brunch. it’s very good, especially the different skillets and the pancakes.
there is a waiter/server there, can’t remember his name, Paul maybe , stocky fair skin. that guy is awesome. probably the best server I’ve ever had at any restaurant including upscale 5 star rated restaurants. Has the best energy and just makes you feel great about the dining experience. it’s worth it just to go for him alone haha

Best breakfast place I think I have ever been to! Everything was delicious from the buttery English muffins to the perfectly cooked eggs, the yummy latte and the crispy bacon with no nitrates. Even the eggs yolks were bright orange because they were so fresh. It’s a bit of a drive for me, but I will definitely be going back.
