Closed due to storm damage caused by Hurricane Micheal. Lots of rumors but from the outside looking in I imagine majority of the building would have to be torn down and rebuilt.
Bring back Club LA Vela!
I know it says “temporarily closed” but in fact is closed permanently. I couldn’t help but leave a review of the best club IN PCB or all of FL, imo. I was googling the name of the club I loved back in my spring break days to take my bf to & was in disbelief to learn that it had closed.
What a time to be alive!!!
You had to be there!! Literally partying with hundreds of, great drinks & even better vibes.
I rarely post photos of myself on Google but here’s a throwback of me at Club La Vela (circa 2017) ❤️
Maybe it will be revived one day! 🌟
I’ve really enjoyed living here! The staff is friendly and helpful, maintenance requests are handled quickly, and the property is well-kept.
Went last in June 2018. Had a good time. Used to go every year for spring break in college during the late 90's-early 00's. Still felt like home. Very sad it's gone. Any why? Didn't the place have insurance? And what about all the money it brought in. With it being left abandoned this long, the damage it had definitely has gotten worse. It probably needs rebuilding, not repairing. It's been closed since 2018, and has never reopened. Nothing is even said about it returning anymore either.
It’s closed down do to hurricane michael and never reopened but it was amazing In its heyday
Loved this place from 98 to 2001! Traveled here from Tallahassee (FSU) during my Spring Break those years. Still have many pics from my disposable cameras, there was no social media back then. The good ole days! Go Noles! Long live Club La Vela!
Rode past La vela last summer after leaving Destin just to see what it looked like. The building and parking lot look exactly the same as it did spring break 2001 - 2005. The wifey and kids had to hush me after about 30 minutes of telling my old La Vela stories. Even the iconic MTV sign is still on front of building. Those memories are still so fresh in my head after 20 plus yrs. Only wish we had smart phones back then so i'd have pics and video of memories.
I can't rate the bar as it has never reopened since hurricane Michael. What a shame as I was told that it was a fantastic bar/restaurant.
My favorite place. This is the one thing I look forward going to whenever I'm in PCB.

Used to party at this club in early 2000's. The Dark room was awesome and I really liked the Sky Bar/lounge. Parking was always an issue. Hope they bring it back for the new generations.
