Coconuts Restaurant

Our server "J.T." was great, but the food had a strange chemical taste. We both got the Crabcakes Benedict for breakfast. The restaurant got my picky order right (I wanted the eggs poached extra well-done and Hollandaise on the side). Kudos to them for that. Not sure what's up with the odd taste: we're wondering if it might be something in the crabcakes--maybe a preservative? Very old grease used for frying? Whatever it was, it was enough to make us not want to go back.

You are on island time when you come here! The staff is Jamaican and very friendly! I come here every time I visit PCB/Laguna Beach and get their coconut shrimp basket! It’s a generous amount of food at a great price point. It’s more of a hole in the wall than an overly touristy place, which I love. No great views, but it has great outdoor seating. It’s on front beach road and close to the beach.

We quit coming here a few years ago because of the horrible service.We decided to give it more try this morning for breakfast.Glad we gave it a try again.The food&coffee was&still is amazing. We were impressed with the service.We had like 4 different employees that came to our table to take our order,refill our coffee(which is a big plus)and bring our food...also to just check on us.I love the outdoor seating to enjoy eating there.We will be going back again from now on. Our favorite PCB breakfast spot!!!

We did an order pick up and got the fried grouper with fries, hush puppies, slaw, cheese curds and volcano shrimp. It was all amazing especially the shrimp!! 10/10

The food was not good. My mahi mahi was dry and hard to eat, my son who loves spaghetti would not eat his, my mom had coconut shrimp, slaw, and okra and she got sick. The server acted like she didn’t want to help us probably because gratuity was included. It was very disappointing we should have gone to Sharky’s.

Good food, jerk chicken, coconut shrimp and rice was good. Fries need some attention, either seasoning them better or cook them longer. Service was good and we were in and out in no time!

DON’T GO HERE

This is a close spot near several hotels that we immediately went to when we got here. Unfortunately we didn’t read reviews first we were just hungry. It’s plain low grade food which is fine for just a quick meal the prices on the menu weren’t bad nothing on there was above 25 dollars. We walked in and was asked how many people they handed us out menu and eating utensils right there at the door and told us to pick a table. Was a little odd but not a big deal. My boyfriend got 2 Busch lights and I had a mixed drink, I ordered a 15 dollar shrimp basket that came with two sides and my boyfriend ordered an 18 dollar jerk chicken plate that also came with two sides. We also got chips and salsa appetizer for about 10 dollars. We went to pay at the front cause they didn’t bring us a bill. Our waitress checked us out and told us our bill would be 96.00 dollars. Pretty insane for a lunch price. They wouldn’t print us a receipt until after we paid. After looking at the receipt and reviews we found they not only charged us 4 dollars a side that the menus said was included with the meal but they also tacked on an 18% gratuity(our waitress handed us the menus and came to the table maybe twice) late on the trip we went to ducks last resort and it cost us less, and to me that speaks volumes. I do not recommend unless you don’t mind overpaying for everything from food to service. Don’t go here.

The food was overcooked and they counted 4 dollars per side even though it said the combos came with 2 sides. There is an automatic gratuity fee of 18 percent on top of this. We have been in PCB for a week and this was our only bad experience.

First restaurant we tried on vacation and paid over $100 on 2 mixed drinks, 2 bottle beers and then my husband and I each got a combo that was $16.99. Food was mediocre and service wasn’t the greatest. Mostly bummed that we spent so much and it wasn’t even on a nice steak.

Walked in and got told they were closed and we couldn’t be served a hour before closing time. Rude and very disrespectful. The worst part?? They had tons of their friends in there being able to get served!!
