My first time going to The Grocery Kitchen and Taproom the food was absolutely amazing. Me and my mother both got the chicken piccata and shared the fried pickles and when I say that’s the best I’ve ever had it really was good. I’ve had fried pickles at other restaurants and they’ve always been greasy and paper thin, those were not greasy and the voodoo sauce was spicy but really good so if you don’t like spice, just don’t dip it in the sauce, but the pickles by themselves are still good. Definitely going back again soon.

This is a much do brunch spot. Easy lot or street parking. Old building, bar and patio are a vibe. Short wait for table of 6. Got two champagne buckets. Shared the hang over fries. I got the smothered chicken and biscuit; soooo good! And finished sharing the bourbon bacon pecan beignets (wow). For real, this is a much go. Perfect brunch spot.

So unfortunate, the place has major potential but the execution was very poor. The servers definitely were very kind and upfront about the wait. We can totally understand a busy night and being short-staffed so letting us know ahead of time that the food may take a little bit was appreciated. We ordered our food and a bit later the server told us they ran out of mashed potatoes, totally fine well just switch the sides. 40 minutes later, still no food, the server comes back to say they were out of ribeyes. So the entire meal we ordered was now off the menu after waiting a whole hour for our meal. They were so jumbled in the kitchen they stopped taking tables 2 hours to close. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely and servers were nice but after being told the meal we ordered wasn’t available after an hour we got up and left. Don't recommend going on a weekend, and hopefully they can get more staff to adequately serve the customers!

Nice hole in the wall with great food and full bar. Went for Sunday brunch and had the chicken and biscuits. Big portions, really good food and great service

Wonderful first time eating at The Grocery and Taproom. Wonderful service, very friendly and the food was amazing. Had the boudin balls and seafood combo platter. The redfish was perfect. Also the cocktails were amazing and reasonably priced. Will absolutely be back!

I am absolutely obsessed with this place! It’s so pretty and the atmosphere is amazing. The “espresso yo’self martini” is by far the best I’ve ever had. I could eat the Brussels every day! And the hamburger steak tastes like somebody’s granny made it!

This was my 3rd time. 1st time they had just opened & out of A LOT of stuff from menu items to alcohol for cocktails. No biggie just opened i let it slide, 2nd time went again out of some alcohol & a couple of menu items, let it slide again. This time goodness, it was bad. Went for brunch, place not busy a 5 top was next to us we were a 2 top & another 5 five across the patio, inside a few people but not bad. We order drinks asked to put in some apps took awhile for our apps & nobody came to check on us. When our apps fried strawberries (seeme mushy this time) & original beignets (fried in old oil sitting in oil, they needed to strain more) came we asked to put in an order for entrees. We order the shrimp n grits & hangover fries. When the food came finally, the grits were cold , shrimp was good guess the grits were dished & sat while shrimp was cooked, hangover frys were more like loaded sodium with roast beef slices (was to come with brisket). We were they from 12:45 to 2:30ish waitress said food was slow because they didn't expect a large party (the 5 top). The people at the 5 top had been there since 12:30 & at 2 was still waiting for a BLT. Not sure if the place needs new management, kitchen staff, wait staff, &/or food runners but the place needs help, true real help. A server guessing a Bartender gave us 25% off our tap & we thanked her but we won't be back we were hoping 3rd time would be a charm but it wasn't it was the worst and this time we got a table, we usually sit at the bar.

I’ve eaten here a few times now and it’s always great! Sandy is the best, she makes you feel like an old friend. It’s very dog-friendly and the food is delicious. Try the fried strawberries, trust me! The Brussels sprouts, Diablo shrimp, pastalaya, and everything else we’ve had is all delicious!
