My wife’s pargo frito was excellent as were the Maduros. The ceviche de chicharrones was very good. Unfortunately my bandeja de paisa failed. The chicharron was great but the sausage was hard and overcooked as was the top round steak . The arepa was a brick. I know the steak is very thin but chewable is a pre requisite. The egg was similar to hard boiled with a brown crispy white. I’ve had this dish many times and can safely say the chef had an off day. The beans were okay but definitely canned.The server was gracious enough to give me a discount on the bill which wasn’t asked for and was included above and beyond her gratuity.I visited this establishment after reading the reviews and obviously according to them I must have hit an off day. Being Hispanic I appreciate well seasoned and cooked food.There were fewer than 25 diners at the time so I don’t think a rush caused the problem.Went for the fish but have other places with much better results.Used to work in a well known restaurant that’s why I don’t return food. Horrors.
