PINCHO Burgers and Kebabs

Let me start by saying this clearly: the food at Pinche in Pembroke Pines is GREAT. Flavorful, fresh, well-seasoned — no complaints there. The drinks were on point, and the service from the waitresses was warm, attentive, and professional. Every woman on staff that I interacted with was kind and welcoming. So this review is not about the food or the overall service.

This is specifically about one older male staff member.

To my melanated folks — especially Afro-Latinos and Black customers — I just want to share my experience so you’re aware.

The moment I walked in, this older Hispanic gentleman was already staring at me in a way that felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. It wasn’t neutral. It wasn’t curious. It felt begrudging, like I didn’t belong there. I brushed it off because, as a Black man in America, unfortunately I’m used to navigating microaggressions.

But then I noticed something.

As other guests came in after me — particularly non-Black guests — he went out of his way to warmly greet them, smile, and engage in conversation. He made it a point to acknowledge them in a way he never did with me. No greeting. No welcome. No eye contact of the friendly kind.

That contrast is what made it stand out.

Again, every other staff member was great. The women working there were professional and hospitable. The food was excellent. But that initial interaction set a tone that didn’t sit right with me.

What threw me off the most is that this wasn’t coming from a white staff member — it was another person of color. And that’s disappointing. We all know what exclusion and stereotypes feel like. Extending that same energy to someone else is never a good look.

I’m not saying don’t go. The food is worth trying. I’m not saying the whole establishment is problematic — it isn’t. But I am saying that if you’re a Black or Afro-Latino customer, just be aware that this particular staff member may not give you the same warmth he gives others.

Hopefully management sees this and addresses it, because the restaurant itself deserves better representation than that kind of energy at the door.

Pincho is always delicious. First time visiting this location, the kitchen made a mistake but they quickly resolved the issue and I got a free cookie from the nice front lady. Would definitely come back

I ordered the Chicken Latin Bowl and was disappointed to find that the rice was totally undercooked. Additionally, the plantain bits were also not fully cooked. The cilantro sauce, which used to be flavorful, was now thin and lacked the usual taste. This location used to deliver great meals, so it's unclear what led to the decline in food quality. Unfortunately, I'm now dealing with an upset stomach after this meal. Very disappointing.

We got takeout from Pincho for dinner last night because my daughter ate here before and she said good things and she was right. Food was delicious. We will be ordering again.

Update: Quickly becoming my new favorite place!

Food here is always good. You can order an indulgent burger and sweet potato tots or you can go light and have a salad with grilled chicken or beef skewers or go halfway and get a bowl with rice and beans and meat like home cooking. There's so many options and so many different types of meals you can have here and they're all good

Good food, good service. Staff has always been polite and helpful, except 1 cook who had an attitude with my son. But I don't think he works there anymore.
OOH- I really love that they switch things up. Every month they have a cool item of the month. One request- plz do the Nashville hot chicken sandwich again!!

My partner and I saw Pincho and decided to try it. It’s now one of our fav place to eat. We mostly always get the Vaca Frita bowl. It’s so good.
