I’ve had Pollo Campero many times in Guatemala, so I was excited to finally try a U.S. location when I was in the area.

I ordered the 2-piece chicken meal with a side. I only eat breast meat, and the substitution was $1.80 upcharge. I followed the staff’s recommendation and tried both the fried and grilled chicken. The chicken was juicy, and cooked well, not overdone, which breast meat can easily become. That said, nothing about it really stood out or felt...
The good: Quick service and the fried chicken was very flavorful. The plantains and rice was cooked well too.
The bad: The family side portions seem small to feed a family of 3-4. I wanted to try to grilled chicken but they no longer had that available.
The review: I recently visited an Pollo Campero El Salvador and was in
intrigued to find out we had one in the states as well. The chicken carried the same taste as well as the fountain drink options...
No roasted chicken available not to mention 20 minutes for any chicken at all. Don’t believe them when they say “park outside we will take it over”. No one comes you better go grab it. Haven’t had this issue at other locations but if they keep this up back to pollo tropical.
