Sal's Italian Ristorante

Sals is our family's go to restaurant when we want great food, however today when I picked up my pizza, I witnessed something appalling. The young lady who took my money used her same bare, unwashed hands to pick up freshly baked rolls to warm in the oven. When I said something about her not washing her hands and touching the baked rolls she looked at me as if I did/said something wrong. I spoke to her gently since I'm an educator and work with teens and realize they are learning. The unfortunate part is this probably happens often when customers aren't looking. It is also a concern because food safety is important and you can get sick from actions like this. I'm tossing the rolls since I can't guarantee the rolls she gave me are food safe. She went in the back and got " new rolls" but she put them in the oven next to the ones she handled with her unwashed hands. I'm exceptionally disappointed because I will always question the food safety of this Sals' restaurant, so I won't be dining in or ordering from this particular Sals again.

So I would agree with the previous person that said this is a hit or miss. Today I walked into this place, and said two for dining in. The greeter who appeared to be the bartender made a face “oh ok” which led me to believe dining in was an inconvenience to them. We ordered a greek salad which was absolutely delicious. I would order that again. However the calzone was cold inside but the bread was actually done just right so if you heated it anymore in the oven it would burn the bread. So we are like that. It was good but nothing crazy. The temperature was so cold here that it made it uncomfortable to eat, so we rushed our meal. I guess for 4.3 stars on Google I expected more.

The food is good but it's too expensive! For me it is not worth it. Lower the prices and I will return, otherwise I will never go again.

The owner is the best I’ve seen, great food!! Everything operated so smooth from sitting to eating it was a great experience that you don’t get from any Italian restaurant, you get to feel great energy when you walk in, and the owner is world class with the way he operates this business.
