Not a big fan of this place. Unfortunately for them, I’ve been to multiple vineyards and experienced true, legit wine tasting. The folks here, don’t seem very interested in making it a fun true wine centered environment. A lot of questions they could not answer, a lot of wine bottles empty. This to me is a bar with HUGE potential into being something spectacular, but it will take a lot of education on the staff, maybe get someone in there that actually is excited about wine. It was no doubt the most boring wine tasting experience in my lifetime, I left within 15 minutes. Would love to talk to the owner, that place could be full all the time with the right “fun and knowledgeable” employees, maybe send your people to a real winery so they can get a clue, that would be a great start.
My fiancé and I decided to check out Casks and Flights today after reading some great reviews. The concept sounded really interesting, so we were excited to try it out. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t match the reviews at all.
When we walked in, we stood at the front desk for a while, unsure of what to do. There was a cute drink setup near the entrance, but it blocked the view of the rest of the space. I waited for someone to come up, but no one did. After a bit, I peeked around and saw the place was completely empty. I figured the staff might be busy since it was such a lively day downtown, so I kept waiting. Eventually, I noticed a woman in a football sweatshirt on her phone with an earbud in. Honestly, I didn’t even realize she worked there.
My fiancé asked if they were open, and before I could respond, the woman pulled out her earbud, gave him a look of complete disgust and annoyance, and said, “Yeah? Obviously. And if you need something, you can come to the bar. Plus, we don’t even sell food here, so why would you stand at the front?” Her tone and attitude completely caught me off guard.
Even after that, my fiancé was still willing to stay, but I couldn’t shake how uncomfortable the whole interaction made me. I told him I didn’t want to stay, and we ended up leaving. As I walked out, I realized on their building it did mention “food”, although that’s not why we came today.
Looking back, it makes sense now why downtown was so busy, but this place didn’t have any customers. I wish our experience had been better, but unfortunately, it left a bad taste in my mouth before we even got to try anything.
In consistent door cover charges for an empty establishment. I came for wine tasting a few times and purchased a few bottles. Came back on a Friday night to purchase more but wanted a 10 dollar cover charge for me to come purchase more bottles and leave. I cant and won’t support desperate business that only pass up on business for a $10 cover when I’m coming to pay upwards of a $100 on wine to take back home.

Zero customer service. Had to basically wake up the person working there. Wine was bad - as in it went bad because no one is checking the bottles.

We decided to go here after my birthday dinner. There actually was a DJ contest, the business's anniversary, and one of the employee's birthday all being celebrated that night so we didn't get to really experience the wine tasting experience that we expected. It was still a fun night. We sampled a few wines and enjoyed the celebration nevertheless. I would sediment like to return on a regular night to get the full wine tasting experience.
