Ever'man Cooperative Grocery & Cafe - 9 Mile

We let our membership lapse - I would buy 2 cases of yogurt every week and they just could never order enough without us making 3 trips a week from Pace to the Nine Mile location to hear .... it may be on the Tuesday truck .... didn't come, it may be on the Thursday truck .... nope, it may be on the Saturday truck. When you have a customer who is willing to make 3 trips, you know they want the product and even when it came in, there would only be one case. It wasn't just the yogurt, lots of empty spots on the shelf and the produce department was hit or miss. We had great interaction with the staff because we were there so often but the management is clearly having issues.

Amazing store and friendly staff! However, please consider getting rid of the signatures on the pinpad! It is both annoying and pointless. Overall, everything else is awesome!!!

Fantastic stop here for organic food. I got a salad at the salad bar. There are sandwiches & even a hot food buffet.

Let me start with the good: The place looks amazing, the juice bar is the best in town, and the ladies working in the vitamin and herb section are the best in town at 9 mile and Downtown (they can help you when doctors can't), the selection of goods and foods is wonderful, and the cleanliness is always great as well!

Now for the bad: The employee turnover here is terrible and they are constantly hiring. If you look them up on Indeed rating it is like in between 1-2 stars. Ever'man used to take care of its employees in the past and we made many more trips to Ever'man. The reasoning is they would help grow the community and we would be visiting our friendly juice barista, baker, etc. because we would be more invested. Whoever you have running it, should not only make the customers happy but figure out ways to keep their employees happy as well and be competitive with the pay (I realize that you have to get board approval). There are lots of young people and older ones that don't mind working hard but they got to be able to keep the lights on and a roof over their heads. I know a few employees that have worked there for 20 plus years that probably need a raise as well and they are the heart of why people want to shop there. When you get the right management everyone wants to stay and it should be overflowing with people!

I’ve been shopping from EverMans for well over 15 years. Spending thousands of dollars. What I have seen over the years is a consistent decline in an overall quality of the whole store. Produce, product and workers are dismal at best. The dreariness of this particular store and their workers are enough to make me promise myself never to return.

This place has many healthier options. Everyone I came in contact with was friendly and willing to help.

I would not recommend the store to family and friends. I give the Café manager a poor rating. Prices are high for the size of package in every section of the store. Including Dairy and Meat departments.
