Firehouse Subs Pensacola #4

I know I won't hear back as the Owner only responds to positive reviews, but here goes.

The friendly yet careless cashier has a weird way of confirming your selection that just makes things confusing..

Aside from that, while me and my wife sat and ate our sandwiches, we did watch the cashier that took care of us wiping down tables with a sanitized rag, I hope.

The scary part was that he then took the same rag and wiped off around the top of the trash can and then moved over to the freestyle Coke machine. All with the same rag.

It scares me to think what happens to the food in the back when they do that right in front of you.

He was friendly, but it doesn't make up for the gross and dangerous way he "cleans" the dining room. I can't prove it, but I didn't feel good for 2 days after eating there. It's possible it's connected. I won't return to this Firehouse for sure, and it'll be a very long time before I order from any other Firehouse.

He genuinely seemed like he didn't know he was doing wrong. And that scares me even more.

Walked in and didn't even get a greeting from either employee. One was on their phone, and the other had very little interest in serving us. The food was great, but the service seriously needs some work.

I ordered 2 chocolate chip cookies, and though they weren't the best I've ever had, they were quite good.

Parking: Lots of free parking close to the restaurant.

The staff is always very nice.

The potato soup is surprisingly good.

Parking: There are about 10 spots only neighboring firehouse. There are about 30 shared between the whole strip mall

The point of me making this review is for my friend. The moment we walked in, the cook/cashier was super irritated-sounding already, but while my friend was ordering he asked the man to repeat something (politely, mind you) and the man immediately got an attitude. He wasn’t friendly to any of us, but got particularly pissy with him specifically. My friend’s a super picky eater, so he wanted just pepperoni and mozzarella. Didn’t even ask for a cheaper price or anything, payed the full price for less ingredients without any complaints. But when he got his food it was burnt on top, and cold in the middle. Cheese wasn’t melted, and the man put sauce on it anyway. An absolute mess. If it were me, I would’ve thrown away the whole sandwich in front of him, but my friend is too nice. Will most definitely not be returning to this location. But the other guy working was polite, it was just the one man we had a problem with. Older guy. The sandwich ended up getting picked apart as leftovers, which is what’s on the provided photo, but you can still see the burnt part and unmelted cheese.

Yvonne really stood out with her kindness and was so accommodating for us. We came in with our 4 kiddos tired and hungry from evacuating from the hurricane and her thoughtfulness made our night. People like her make a difference in the customer experience. She deserves a raise!
