While I do not get to eat seafood often (my wife really dislikes it), this is a place I enjoy going to when I can. To me, they put the emphasis on the quality of the food and not necessarily the amenities if you will. If you are looking for something like Red Lobster in way of linen table clothes and fancier dining (if Red Lobster is fancier dining), this place is NOT for you. Plastic baskets, plastic utensils, packets of tarter sauce, and red checkered table cloths are what you find here. But the restaurant is connected to a fresh seafood market. So, the seafood being prepared is likely some of the freshest you'll find. The food is hot and tasty, and the hush puppies (which I am typically not a fan of at most places) were delicious. The shrimp was quite different from the chewier kind that often denotes frozen at other places. There may be better seafood restaurants in Pensacola down by the beach, but this gem is a convenient stop.

Amazing and love unassuming!! Best grouper fingers we have ever had. Best hot fresh hush puppies and such yummy cheese grits. Just order to the left of the entrance and they bring it to your table really hot and fresh. GREAT local place!!

The food was really good, fresh and tasty. Shrimp basket was delicious- you can telL it was good quality shrimp. Seafood gumbo was tasty and the mahi mahi basket was great too!

March 10, 2022 , Stopped for lunch. This is the seafood stop that you need to make. Good food, good prices and lots of locals for lunch. Gumbo was great as was the scrimp.
Fantastic food, best cheese grits and blackened mahi-mahi around! The service was great, all of the food was delicious, and the banana pudding helped finish off a perfect meal. Kudos to the crew who delivered a great dining experience, I highly recommend Gulf Coast Seafood Restaurant.

wanted some fresh seafood along our drive to Boca Grande Florida and happened upon this gem. The shrimp was so fresh it melted in my mouth. Not the nicest looking on the outside but give it a try...you would be happy if you did!

Just stopped here for dinner en route to Texas from Florida. To say the food here was amazing is an understatement. It looks a tad old and run down, but has been in business since 1935 and family owned. Love that part too. But the food was superb and very inexpensive which blew my mind.
