Lana's Jamaica House Cafe

Walked in and there was no one to greet us, there were 3 customers waiting, about 12 minutes after waiting an older lady came out asking another customer why he didn't tell us to ring the bell that's on the counter but she could see us on the camera. We finally ordered a large oxtails and medium curry chicken. She didn't tell us she was out of rice and peas, but she did say she was out of curry goat and jerk chicken. She brought our order and kept demanding we wash our hands and use hand sanitizer and get off our phone. We laughed, but she kept demanding. After she finally left the table, we opened the plates to find cabbage with corn, carrots, and onions in it, cornbread, white rice with pigeon peas, and dry curry chicken. The oxtails were extremely salty. We spent $90 and didn't eat it. Very disappointing, she tried to be funny but was very invasive and borderline rude. Will not be back, the food was not good and neither was the service. Gud Vybz is and always will be our spot for Jamaican food.

So I went there 10/20/2024 around 1700, the oxtails were delicious but the jerk chicken was really dry. I like the vibe, music, and the customer service was laid back but attentive. The atmosphere was ok, they were doing a little construction on the entrance so I can’t really hold them on that. It was really the dry jerk chicken that killed any chances of a better review, you can tell because it was the end of the day and that chicken had to be sitting in the warmer for a while. The cabbage tasted just like my mama and cornbread was sweet but overly sweet.

Was REALLY feeling Jamaican food and found this place online close to me. Needless to say I was excited! (The reviews looked great) However, when I arrived at 2:45pm (on a Thursday), the "open" sign was lit, but the door was locked, with no one I could see inside. All the other lights and a TV was on a well. While there was a sign on the door stating to call for assistance, this was frustrating. Why have an in-store business if customers have to "call for assistance"? Especially at 2:45 in the afternoon. They can't be serious about making money if people have call to get someone to unlock the door/provide service during business hours at a brick-n-mortar restaurant. Disappointing to say the least.

The people that own this restaurant are kind, good people. They have been through a lot and are very strong. The food is amazing and has a good variety of naturally healthy foods. She makes everything home made

Parking: There is parking in front of the building and on the side

I placed an order with doordash to restaurant. I called to Location to make sure that I had extra gravy on my rice and a guy answer the phone was very rude and hung up on me. I received my food and did not have extra gravy on my rice.

I went back because I thought maybe the cook had a bad day. That’s when I learned they are the owners. I arrived at the end of lunch hours and people were playing cards. I was told to please have a seat and someone will be with me. After about 10 minutes a woman rose from the table to take my order. I order a lunch plate and the woman owner attempted to fat shame me, because I wanted a lunch plate.

This is by far the worst place that I have been to for food as well as customer service

The Oxtail and Goat are very tender. And the flavor. Mrs Lana made me feel right at home. I'll definitely be back.

While in town on a brief getaway my boyfriend randomly decided he wanted Jamaican food for lunch. It was his birthday so, Jamaican food it is.!!! Hunnnnnnnnnnni LANA’s did not miss!!!! Babbbbbbyyyyyy when I tell you the food was amazing…!! The flavors lingered for a good hour after we ate… everything was on point… we both did the jerk chicken dinner with cabbage and he got rice and beans… I just did the cabbage and chicken… OMGoodness it was all on point.!!! Will definitely revisit on the next trip.

I LOVED my experience here. Friendliest establishment I have ever been to. She was very hospitable and full of amazing energy. She gave us all hugs before we left. The food was amazing as well. The food was spicy but the drink she offered us helped with it! The drink was good as well. They have Jamaican music playing while you dine. More people should visit. I’m from out of state so unfortunately I won’t be able to come back as often as I wish.

The food is decent but the guy that runs the cashier is creepy and doesn't know how to ring up the food. I went at lunch hour and he rang me for dinner price. He also gets too close in your personal space if you are a woman and tells you how lonely he is.

She was SUUUUUUUPER sweet and the food was delicious!!! We were visiting from Mississippi and we instantly fell in love with her and the food. We went back before leaving to get plates to bring home. We bean family instantly. We will DEFINITELY be returning.

Order Lrg Oxtails only had like 4 small pieces of meat which was all fat and no meat..There is an up charge for using your credit card… Didn’t like the food at all. Very disappointing
