The Halal Gyro Spot is a hidden gem located inside a gas station, specifically the Texas Food Mart. While it is takeout only with no seating available, and its outside looks can be biased, the food and the friendly, welcoming attitude from the workers make up for it. The food has been great each time, serving as a great spot for a quick, delicious meal on the go.
The menu features fantastic and flavorful items. The mixed gyro is flavorful and the gyro meat is very tender. The lamb over rice is hands down a favorite, perfectly nailed and a slice of nostalgia. The rice platters are possibly some of the best, very flavoral. The wings are perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the burgers are absolutely fantastic—juicy, cooked to perfection, and cooked just right. The salad is better than what most places serve. A minor gripe is that the hummus does not come with any pita to eat it with.
Overall, it is a great gas station food joint, definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area. Do not let the location deter you, as they are serving up some seriously good halal food.
