We waited over 20 minutes for an iced black Americano....got it and it was very watered down and didn't even taste like espresso. Very disappointed. Only redeeming factor was the cool old theater they serve out of.

Quick service even when busy, my sister got a chocolate croissant and was surprised how big it was for $4. The downstairs was very busy. We went upstairs thinking it would be as busy as it was downstairs and we were proven wrong. Instead finding it empty, quiet and very comfortable. Totally see myself going upstairs to do homework or hang out with friends since our first time visiting.

The Rex Cafe is amazing! The vibe is great, the staff is friendly and the coffee is delicious! Definitely try the Biscoff Latte, it tastes just like the cookie! I wish I lived in the area so I could go again. If I’m back in Pensacola in the future I will be making a stop at Rex!

Lois (the manager) is a kindhearted Frenchman who cares deeply about both his customers and his coffee. He’s incredibly passionate about his coffee and always happy to talk beans and their origin stories. Marlie is pure joy - full of energy, always smiling, and has an adventurous spirit that keeps things fun and fresh. Isaiah is a true coffee guru, diving deep into his craft and bringing that knowledge to every cup. Mychaela is kind, easygoing, and always brings good energy - she’ll brighten your day without even trying. Shanan is bubbly and dedicated, making sure your coffee tastes amazing and looks like art. Eriyonna is The Rex’s resident beach soul - super chill, super friendly, and totally on top of her game. And Sydney? Nothing but smiles - be warned, it’s infectious!
Honestly, everyone who works here makes you feel like you’ve just walked into your favorite hangout. There’s a warmth and welcome at The Rex that’s hard to beat - it’s like the whole crew has mastered the art of good vibes and great coffee.
