They have ample vegetarian and gluten free options, they use whole healthy ingredients, and have a variety of sides. They are also reasonably priced at $16 for a large bowl which is enough for 2-3 meals. The best thing are the sauces- they have a fiery hot mustard and cilantro garlic which is absolutely heavenly. I don’t usually care for “in a bowl” type cuisine but this one was really good.“

“I dine here quite often. I've eaten at chicken kitchen since the early 90's so I have seen the changes over the years. I've been eating at this specific location on old Cutler road for about 10years. Tonight I bought nothing new. Just my typical deluxe chop, light lettuce,light tomatoes & wife had the same. So as my chicken was being chopped I asked for the skin and was told I need to pay extra for that.🫨 I was confused at first thinking the young lady was joking with me but I was wrong she was dead serious! Since when do we start paying extra for the part of the chicken that comes on the 🐔 chicken already. I always order a small and have food left over. There was barely any food inside that container. I know the use the white cup to measure which is usually leveled off but this time I felt robbed. Are we rationing everything now like God damn this is crazy.“

I usually see Juan, who is an amazing guy, always friendly and attentive. The staff has been consistently kind and helpful since I started coming here. “The place was full but they were really fast with my order. The woman who brought my order to the table was very nice and the and the man (i think was the manager) who sorted out the dishes to throw away was very kind. Overall, the staff is quite attentive.“

So although I'd heard of Soulfly, I wasn't particularly interested in visiting. I'm glad the experience was not as impersonal as I anticipated. Partly because I just didn't feel like sticking to the script but also I couldn't get that doggone pickup situation together. LOL I had so many issues with the code to retrieve my order, it was seriously comical. I did observe others come in, put in the code, get the food and go though.

You do have to order on the kiosk but I was able to ask the manager if I could order it like this or that, which he happily made note of for my particular order. There was a little wait for having ordered onsite - things would have felt quicker had I ordered online from offsite then stopped in to pickup when notified the order was ready. I had the wings and cajun rice. Now what surprised me was that chicken! Ok, Soulfly! Very nicely seasoned, good crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. I was impressed considering my expectations. It reminded me of those good chinese takeout chicken wings. Nice surprise. The cajun rice was just okay for me.

The challenges to me coming back are that the price is just high for what you get. I understand there is a cost for "convenience" so it is what it is. However adding $6.54 to the order when I had to do the work to place it then pick it up is.... I don't and won't mind continuing to do things the old school way to pay a more reasonable price for fried chicken in other nearby neighborhoods. Also, no "convenient" parking. I feel like this spot is more geared towards people strolling on the street or for food delivery drivers who will be on a moped only.

Overall for the chicken and helpfulness of the onsite staff, I give it a 3.5, not just a 3.“

This chick fil a is legit the only business open in the building on the whole block yet you can’t park for 5 minutes out front to get food. The garage is $8! The city should rezone the parking in front for 15 minutes Max or something. How are business supposed to survive here. They are losing a lot of business. We left today because the parking lady was harassing us. Meanwhile 6 police cars parked out front getting lunch, a city bus parked in the no parking zone to get lunch, 2 usps trucks parked in a no parking zone to get lunch. Are they special? He understood and graciously gave me the yellow rice for free. I was prepared to pay for it but he insisted on helping me even though it was my mistake, and with a smile.
