It was a great time. Walked in and it had the feel of a neighborhood bar. Nature of the bartender Rachel treated likea King and Queen. The blue Long Island Iced Tea cigar for me it was magnificent tasted wonderful. The Captain and Coke for my wife has is also delicious. Again the food was magnificent! My wife ordered some kind of oriental food was delicious, and my American Burger was cooked a profession and delicious

Wow wow wow PHENOMENAL. Lots of TV's, fast service, They have a lot of things here such as Vietnamese, Japanese and Thai food. If you love Asian food like me, you're going to love this place because you get a lot of the desirable stuff within one place. The restaurant looks super clean and is very nice.
Waitress/Front Desk person was really cool. I like her a lot.

Food is always fresh and portions are generous. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Pricing is reasonable. It's our go to sushi place.

Unfortunately, my experience here was disappointing. The bartender greeted us with a rushed and slightly dismissive tone, immediately asking what we wanted and then abruptly requesting our IDs. We ordered three shots and politely asked to split the check three ways. While other guests were helped promptly—even those who requested their checks after us—we waited quite a while with no follow-up.
We were the only Black patrons in the bar, and while I can’t say for certain that race was a factor, it definitely felt like it played a role in how we were treated. When I finally asked if there was a reason we hadn’t been helped, the response was that “people usually leave money on the counter,” though we hadn’t received a check to do so.
I’m sharing this in hopes of encouraging more consistent and respectful service for all guests.

One of the best Pho spots around with decent prices and a laid back atmosphere. Very friendly staff.

We tried this place called Nickel City Sushi and Bar and let me tell you, this place is so good!! We enjoyed everything about this place, the workers who were so down to earth and kind that gave us great customer service, the atmosphere and the food. We will definitely go back. Shout out to Ally and Tara!! The both of you are amazing young ladies.

I was planning on going there today for lunch so I looked online and their hours say that they open at 11 AM on Fridays. I arrive there at 11:30 and I walk up to the door and the sign on the door says they do not open till 12 noon and the door is locked so I wait half an hour And at 12:01 I walk up to the door it’s still locked. I look inside and there are four people sitting there eating their lunch, staring at me. I knock on the door. They don’t even say wait a minute or anything. They just stare at me and keep eating. I waved goodbye and drove away. Not sure what I’m supposed to do in this situation. So I thought I would complain with a review.

We went back because we had a yummy meal with decent service a few days prior. The restaurant wasn’t even half full. I ordered the same thing that I had been craving. The flavor was far from wonderful, and my husband’s meal arrived with the burger half dressed (according to what the menu said it would come with.) Our server, a young girl dressed in a sweatsuit, was (I have to say it…) lazy. It took a long time to get food initially, and once food was delivered, she was nowhere to be found for quite some time. I actually had to go find our server so she could correct my husband’s order. (Sushi chef was pretty slow as well. I wonder what happens when the restaurant is actually packed.)
This is what makes the difference between a successful restaurant and a total dive… Servers need to greet you with a smile. Your order needs to be taken promptly. (I watched the couple across the aisle wait even longer than we did.) Each table needs to be checked on periodically (but not to the point of being intrusive,) and especially-a few minutes after the meal is delivered. Ask, “How is everything tasting? Did it come out as you expected? Can I get you anything else?” And fill drinks frequently. Don’t make people wonder where you are when they need something. Be visible. Make eye contact. Be available.
When you work in a restaurant, you should always be busy. There is always something to do. Check on guests, clean tables, check the bathrooms and refresh them, fold napkins and flatware, wipe down menus, check floors for garbage, refill condiments, etc. And a smile goes a very long way. You are the face of that restaurant. Dress professionally, find purpose, and smile. Treat every client like they are special, and let them know you appreciate their business.
As for the restaurant itself. Get RID of the hokey, dust collecting fake flowers by the sushi bar. It looks like they are leftover from a funeral! Every fake flower/plant in there is filthy. Replace them with real, culturally appropriate, bamboo plants, and other live leafy indoor plants instead. They improve air quality and look much better.
We might give this place another try at some point down the road but for now, it doesn’t deserve our money or time.
