Sometimes just have to travel a little for a wonderful dinner. We have been to the Placid and Cape Haze area previously and decided to try Placida Grill in Placida. About a 45 minute drive from our home. It was worth the drive Placida Grill offerings are made to order. Our server was Edda, lovely lady. Appetizer special this evening were chicken wings, we usually keep wings for bar and grill settings but passing other tables enjoying them and then the teasing aromas sealed the deal. The wings were plumb, juicy with a nice crisp exterior, served with fresh in-house sauces. We always have our sauce on the side. We want to keep the crisp fry. It was a very good choice. We also enjoyed a crisp, cold and fresh Ceasar Salad, a well made dressing. We added anchovies, yes we like anchovies! A dinner special was bouillabaisse, a delicious broth of seafood, very comforting and satisfying meal. We also had the Killer Shrimp dish, a strong nod to the Thai shrimp coconut milk curry soup. Wow, velvety, full of those various Thai favors and essence. This dish was more nuanced than the Thai restaurants in our area. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening of dinning here as well as the wonderful service by Edda. Delicious cocktail creations complemented our meal. We will be adding miles to our car to enjoy more meals and miles at Placida Grill.

Don't miss dining at the Placida Grill. We are frequent guests and the food and service are always amazing. The head chef is truly gifted. Don't neglect the homemade desserts!

We have visited this area of Florida many times from the UK and thought we had tried most restaurants however, yesterday evening we discovered this gem of an establishment. Formerly known as Prime Time and slightly hidden from view at the back of a small group of stores is this unassuming restaurant. It appears to have plenty of outdoor seating available on a patio, however, we chose to eat inside. We chose to make a reservation although at the time we visited this did not appear to have been needed. We were shown to our table immediately upon arrival by the hostess and provided with menus and beverage lists. A comprehensive menu of appetisers, salads, entrees and specials. There was also a good selection of beers which included 12 on draft. Chloe, our waitress, arrived promptly to take our order and answer any questions that we had. We ordered corn bread with jalapeno butter and lavender honey dip - which was incredible, a large Caesar salad between us ( which the kitchen split onto 2 plates for us), followed by chicken scampi and killer shrimp entrees. All accompanied by a fresh orange juice and a draft orange blossom beer. Each course arrived quickly without being rushed and was well presented and was a good size portion without being excessive. The chicken scampi on angel hair pasta was delicious and the Thai style shrimp in coconut curry broth was amazing and completely unexpected. My husband’s favourite ethnic food is Thai and he was amazed at the quality of this dish and complimented the chef. Throughout the meal, Chloe was attentive, chatty, approachable and very personable and made us feel very welcome. We would certainly recommend this restaurant to others and will go back there again Thank you for a lovely meal Total bill $95, which we felt was not excessive for the quality of this meal Parking was plentiful, free and immediately outside the restaurant including disabled bays

We visited this evening, late August. We are local and very close, but this was our first time visiting. We were not looking for waterfront or a view of the bay this particular evening. We wanted great food. We wanted dinner without going into Venice or even Port Charlotte. My husband and I are aware of other restaurants in the area but do not care for some of the same popular choices that others rave about. Our visit absolutely surprised us. The food was fantastic. My husband and I both ordered from the 3 for $30 menu. I got the Wedge salad, steak frites with truffle fries, and chocolate cake. My husband got the Killer Shrimp, Cajun fettuccini (no tomatoes) and chocolate cake. Both dishes came out perfectly, even with changes. I also ordered the raspberry martini (ok two). They were a great addition to our date night. The hostess was accommodating when we requested to be seated deeper into the dining area. There was a large birthday celebration at the bar. The noise from the bar did not hinder our conversation at our table. Our waitress, Chloe, was absolutely a pleasure. She was attentive, joined us in great conversation and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable when we inquired about special meal options. Overall, we recommend you give this restaurant a try!

Showed up with a party of 15 and Beth took care of us. Outstanding experience and awesome food. Please ask for Beth. She was above average as a server.

There are several first rate restaurants in Englewood/Placida and environs, Placida Grill is not one of them. The room itself is cold and stark, with bare concrete floor, ancient booths and a few tables. The caesar salad was excellent, but the shrimp and grits seemed to have been prepared days earlier, warmed up immediately prior to serving and marginally edible. The server was knowledgeable and attentive.

Friendly, attentive staff. Excellent food with great presentation, and the desserts are phenomenal!! A great 'go to' place for a special occasion, or just cocktails & a bite at the bar. We'll definitely be back to work our way down the menu!!

Love the Placida Grill! The cornbread with honey is one of my favorite appetizers. The burrito is good and their filet is so tender. One of our favorite places to eat.
