Great place to enjoy good food and relaxing atmosphere next to the water. The red fish sticks are amazing and very fresh I highly recommended them. We also tried the gator bites for the first time and they are delicious as well. The staff was very nice and our server was top notch.

Our party of 5 wanted to order takeout to enjoy while we watched the football games on this Sunday.
We ordered a full rack of ribs, the crab cake platter, the beef brisket platter, a pulled pork sandwich with cheddar, the blackened chicken alfredo, and sides such as Cole slaw, onion rings, sweet potato fries with a delicious sauce, and baked beans which actually had pieces of pork which was a nice surprise. The containers of BBQ sauce and the other sauces were numerous. The meals were ready as I arrived 20 minutes after ordering and were still warm when I arrived home. Everything was delicious.
The employees were very pleasant to speak with while I made sure everything was as I ordered as I live about 8 miles away. Alexis who took the order and Kristen who ensured everything was as ordered were so nice. We will reorder or eat in this restaurant again soon. I would also like to thank the new owners for making sure everything is topnotch both food wise and the exemplary customer service.

I will say this, I have been here since 1954, used gasparilla marina when smoking Jerry's was the tackle shop.
I have been there three times and had without question the best conch fritters east of the Bahamas. Big chunks of conch meat dipped with a ice cream scoop and deep fried. Make your tongue beat your brains out delicious. I drive from port charlotte to get some......

Disastrous Experience at Smokin Jerry's Tiki Hut in Placida, Florida

My recent visit to Smokin Jerry's Tiki Hut in Placida, Florida, was nothing short of a nightmare. This establishment’s gross negligence and appalling lack of customer service has left me utterly disgusted, and I feel compelled to warn others to steer clear of this health hazard masquerading as a restaurant.

The fiasco began when I opened a ketchup bottle at my table, only for it to explode in a putrid eruption of fermented, spoiled ketchup. The rancid condiment splattered across my shirt, ruining it, and sprayed onto the floor behind me. A significant amount even landed on my plate, contaminating my meal. The stench and mess suggested the ketchup had been sitting neglected for who-knows-how-long, likely teeming with bacteria—hello, salmonella risk! My food was not remade, just move to a different plate.

When the manager sauntered over, their response was jaw-droppingly inadequate. They had the audacity to ask if I wanted a different plate, as if I’d gleefully dine with spoiled ketchup as a side dish. No apology, no urgency, no concern for the fact that their negligence could have made someone seriously ill. To make matters worse, the owner—fully aware of the incident, as he later admitted to witnessing the entire ordeal—did absolutely nothing to address the situation.

When we decided to leave, fed up with the appalling service, the manager’s attempt at amends was to grudgingly offer a $3.00 discount on my plate. Three dollars! As if that could compensate for a ruined shirt, a contaminated meal, and the sheer embarrassment of being covered in foul ketchup. This insulting gesture only added to the sense of being utterly disrespected as a customer.

Smokin Jerry's Tiki Hut is a disaster waiting to happen. The fact that they’re serving spoiled condiments raises serious questions about their food safety practices. I strongly urge the Board of Health to inspect this establishment before someone ends up in the hospital. Save your money, your clothes, and your health—avoid this place at all costs. It’s a one-star dump that doesn’t even deserve that single star.

We came in for dinner with a few dads and 14 kids. The way the servers and cooks handled this was unbelievable. Tables were moved around quickly for us to be able to all sit together outside . Around 20 meals came out so fast without a single mistake. Everything was on point. The menu is awesome with so many different crazy options from scampi, gator bites, pork nachos, prime rib, smoked wings to fried food. Everything we had was delicious. Thank you Alexis and Marcella (servers) for making this happen so smooth. and thank you to the cooks. Will visit again!

The Ragin' Cajun Burger and fries are top notch! They give you the spicy ranch on the side so you can decide how much to add to your burger. The fries are nice and crispy.
Key Lime pie is good, too!
The *only* issue I have had is how hot it is on the restaurant side. The bar side is fine. Also, outside seating is great but wear bug spray! Mosquitos LOVE me so I was slapping myself like crazy. Since it's right on the water it's to be expected- I just wasn't aware my group wanted to sit out there!

The food here is awful. Service is slow. The meatloaf special they run for $20 is embarrassing. * And yes I mean recently since new owners...overpriced. spend your money elsewhere.

Gator tail was great. Just what I was looking for. Friendly staff. Great place to stop in for a beer and app.

Been here lots over the years, never left a review because if I didn't have anything nice to say....I wouldn't say anything at all...but tonight...
I was greeted at the door by my server, she introduced herself and had my drink on the table before I was able to open my phone.
Order was takin and double checked!
A true professional and I don't think she's old enough to drive.
The staff here is getting better and better!
If you order anything smoked it will be the best you ever had, the ONLY thing worth complaining abouts the kids menu...kids like good food too.
