Starlite Lounge

Walking into this bar feels like walking straight into TV Land and an episode of Cheers. I mean this place is truly the place where everyone knows your name. It's a locals place made up of a lot of neighborhood folk but you won't find a friendlier or kinder group of people. Some really interesting people come in here pilots, fishermen, newspaper people, horse trainers, and a lot of ITB people. This was a pleasant surprise; a nice little locals bar where folks can smoke and non-smokers can still breathe the air. I believe they have an air-filtering system. There are a couple of pool tables, video games, poker machines, and a dart board for the bored. The bar is actually very nice. The only odd thing is the glassware. I generally confine my serious drinking to the hallowed halls of an American Legion Post but I had heard a lot about the Starlite Lounge and thought I'd give it try. I'm glad that I did. It's a perfect dive bar for the serious to professional drinker, though most drink bottled beer served in chilled plastic buckets.
