Keke's Breakfast Cafe Will Add 140 New Locations
Keke's Breakfast Cafe, the popular Florida-based chain, known for its generous portions and fresh ingredients, has announced it will reach 200 locations in the coming years.
Keke's currently operates 66 restaurants, primarily in Florida. But the fast-growing brand, which was acquired by Denny's in 2022, is expanding its footprint across the country.
"The warm reception from the folks in Tennessee, Colorado, and California has shown us that Keke's Breakfast Cafe appeal stretches well beyond Florida," said Keke's president Dave Schmidt. More than 140 additional cafes will open over the next 3 to 5 years under current development agreements.
By early 2025, customers will see new Keke's locations in Georgia, Texas, and Nevada. The chain plans to grow by 25-30% annually, according to a press release.

Keke's is also updating its brand. The company has created a new logo featuring an orange-shaped emblem that reflects its Florida origins.
This summer, Keke's debuted a new restaurant design in Hendersonville, Tennessee that will serve as the model for future locations. With bright, airy decor and Florida-inspired design elements, it's different from the chain's original look of black ceilings, dark floors, and purple booths.
Remodels are also underway, starting with the Dr. Phillips location in Orlando. "We're seeing sales increase in remodeled locations," Schmidt noted, with plans to update three more restaurants by year-end.
The chain is also improving its operations. Keke's has launched a new website and online ordering system, while some cafes are testing new point-of-sale and kitchen-display systems to boost efficiency.

The culinary team has been busy redesigning kids' offerings, expanding beverage offerings, and testing new seasonal items. Previously, "the chain's kids menu included items that were essentially the same as what's available for adults," but now includes options like chicken fingers and a "Kids Favorite Combo" with mini pancakes or waffles.
To support its expansion, Keke's is seeking new franchisees through a simplified business model. Many of the chain's current operators were loyal customers first who decided to get into the restaurant business.
"We're looking into new markets. We're looking for more experienced operators," said Schmidt. "We're willing and able to commit five to 10 units as we're signing new development agreements."
