Surf Deck Grille

During my stay at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, I had the pleasure of dining at the Surf Deck Grille, a casual beachfront restaurant offering both lunch and dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed, with tables situated right over the beach, providing stunning ocean views.

The menu catered to a variety of tastes, featuring sophisticated options like salmon, as well as kid-friendly fare such as hot dogs. I opted for the local greens salad topped with salmon, while my companion chose a hot dog accompanied by mac & cheese. We also shared a side of green beans. Each dish was flavorful and satisfying, and my Manhattan cocktail was expertly crafted.

Service was prompt and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. We arrived around 6:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and were seated immediately without reservations.

Please note that access to the Surf Deck Grille is limited exclusively to guests and members of the resort and club.

Apparently you must have a hall pass (be a guest or member) to eat at this restaurant. Nowhere on the internet listing is this information conveyed. We weren't asked as we entered parking lot, walking into and through the building (even stopped and asked which way to restaurant) or when we were asked "how many". We were seated, served water, given menus and then asked for the hall pass. I don't care that we were turned away, just would have been nice to know this before we trekked across Jax to get there.

There really needs to be clear signage on site that states that you must be a member to eat at this restaurant. My niece and I stopped in on the way back home from an appointment in Jacksonville. There were no clear signs that stated we needed to be a member. Oh well, we found a nice restaurant on the water further down, “The Reef” in St. Augustine.

sitting beach side is great. lunch, dinner or just drinks … i like dinner at sunset watching the sky & ocean change color.

A beautiful location right on the edge of the sand overlooking the water. it's only open to members and guests. we went with a member and had a wonderful lunch sitting outside. The hamburger was huge and absolutely delicious, as were the french fries. Look forward to staying at the end in the future.

Not available to the public. Must be a member or guest of the hotel. No exceptions. One star for lack of accessibility. Update to owner's response: No mention of this on Google. I only figured it out because of other people's Google reviews. Fyi: Most people use Google to do research and make reservations. Never even made it to your website.

Called ahead to get details about the restaurant. Was not told over the phone it was members only. Got there and was refused service.

We absolutely loved the Surf Deck grill at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Resort. We had lunch there 3 days in a row and every single item we ordered was fantastic! The staff were friendly and accommodating and our meals came quickly and correctly.

Dietary restrictions: We appreciate that there were some gluten-free options including the wonderful salads as well as the grilled cauliflower appetizer.

Great time at this pool bar. They had live music on Saturday and it was great. Tasty drinks with fast service.
