The fries are horrible not like they weren't checkers just came in the scene years ago. I don't eat fast food but when I did when I was younger checkers had good fries and good burgers. It could also be the location because in neighborhoods with people of higher income bracket I was surprised to find that goods are cheaper and the quality is the best. For instance The gas is cheaper in the higher income areas like Venice. The produce and quality of the food in publix is way better that the Publix in port Charlotte for instance. Walmart in port Charlotte is filthy compared to North Port which is just a short drive away.. Aldi's in port Charlotte sells rotten produce. Aldi's in port Charlotte sells the lowest grade of food and produce compared to other affluent neighborhoods. Been of a different race I cook rather than eat out. There is so much disregard when serving my kind and blatant intentional disregard shown to us it's mind-blowing.

Here’s some tasty food at a reasonable price. Just keep in mind that you may have a heart attack after you eat here… the sodium, saturated fat, calories, carbs and cholesterol levels will stop your heart. Maybe that’s why we like fast food so much… it’s the thrill of playing with death. Lol. Seriously though, it does taste good. Fat.

Waited 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was at the window. No cars inline. Then the ding dong screwed up my order when I repeated myself twice. I want to like this place but they keep screwing up!

Bottom line is that this Checkers has a very friendly staff and service is quick. The double fish sandwich was very good and I would buy it again. The double burger was average although they are very generous with toppings.
If it was my restaurant I would clean up the interior just a bit and pressure wash the exterior not to mention the drive thru window and add some vinyl flags. I would also make all employees wear gloves and change them throughout the shift.
A slight recommitment to excellence would help a legacy brand surrounded by dense competition.

Ordered 8 piece chicken tender meal and asked for honey mustard. Got one pack of honey mustard FOR 8 tenders. Had to ask for more just to get 2 more. Order taking is AI which is weird.

The workers are nice but very slow. There is no sense of urgency at lunch time. I watched as they made my sandwich’s very slow and then when I think she’s going to put all of my things in a bag and hand it to me, I see her drop the fries into the fryer so there wasn’t even fries made which means that my sandwich sat a little longer to get cold. She apologized and said that they just got someone in but her actions didn’t show it.
